Florida Man Freezes In Shock After Spotting A Strange-Looking Predator In His Chicken Coop

A Florida chicken coop became an unexpected scene of rescue when a wild bobcat, in desperate need of help, ended up trapped inside.

It all started when a concerned chicken owner saw a strange, sickly-looking feline in his coop.

The poor cat was so disheveled that the man couldn’t tell what kind of animal it was at first. He thought it might be a bobcat, and from the look of it, the creature was in trouble.

He knew something had to be done, so he called for help, and that’s when WILD Florida Rescue arrived. The rescuers rushed to the coop and were greeted by a heartbreaking sight.

The bobcat was incredibly thin, and her fur was in terrible condition from mange. Her once beautiful coat, covered in spots and stripes, was now patchy and dull.

She appeared so weak, and despite her best efforts, she couldn’t even catch a single chicken. It was clear that the bobcat was struggling to find food, and even more so, struggling to survive.

She was only half the size of a healthy bobcat, and it was apparent that she had been through something difficult for quite some time, which had taken a serious toll on her health.

The rescuers and property owner had to think outside the box to free the trapped bobcat. With a careful plan, they loosened the boards and approached her from below.

Their efforts paid off, and the cat was safely rescued with no harm done to anyone. Once in the care of WFR, the team ran a series of tests to assess her condition.

Despite the tough time she had endured, the tests revealed that her situation wasn’t hopeless. There was nothing that couldn’t be fixed with the right care and attention.

With proper treatment, time, and patience, the bobcat had a real chance of making a full recovery. The team was so relieved, sharing in a Facebook post:

“Lab work came back and shows there is nothing that is non-reversible which is great news. She is not out of the woods yet but is being gently treated and cared for. She has got some fight and spirit in her and that’s what’s keeping her going so far…”

Now, under the care of WFR, the little bobcat is slowly gaining strength. She’s been getting the help she needs to put on weight and clear up her mange.

The team is working hard to help her feel like her old self again, and every day she gets a little bit stronger. One day, hopefully soon, she’ll be able to return to the wild, where she belongs.

But WFR promised that when the time comes, she’ll be released into a place where she can roam free and thrive without any worries, far away from that chicken coop.

This brave little fighter still has a long road ahead, but her spirit and resilience are something to be celebrated. Thanks to the care of WFR, she’s steadily getting closer to the freedom of the wild home where she truly belongs.
