Man’s Daily Exercise Turns Into Rescue Mission As He Spots Senior Cat Stuck In Tree

For one kind-hearted man, his daily routine of practicing Tai Chi in a local park took an unexpected turn when he noticed his usual spot was disrupted by something unusual.
Instead of the typical Frisbee or water bottle, he found a pink cat carrier abandoned on the ground.
As he got closer to the strange pink carrier, he looked up and spotted a cat perched high on a branch of a nearby tree. It seemed that the poor creature had escaped from its carrier and, understandably frightened, had taken refuge among the leaves.

The man, who was just looking to enjoy some peaceful Tai Chi, suddenly found himself in a ‘tree cat’ dilemma.
Being the compassionate person he was, he couldn’t just leave the scared cat behind. So, he quickly moved a picnic table under the tree to give himself a boost.
Climbing up, he transformed into a sort of urban Tarzan, trying to reach the terrified kitty. He extended his hand to gently pet the tabby, only to discover that while she was friendly, she had no intention of coming down from her high perch.
This cat was firmly gripping that branch as if it were her last lifeline, holding on tight against the trunk. So, the man found himself in a tricky situation, as he shared in an interview:
“I’m trying to get her back into this cat carrier. She lets me pet her and is fairly friendly, but she just won’t get back into this carrier. And I have no skills with tree cats.”

Realizing he was outmatched in this standoff with the cat in the tree, he did the right thing by reaching out to local authorities and the city shelter, hoping they had some expertise in dealing with cats stuck in trees.
Unfortunately, his attempts didn’t lead to any help. It turns out that rescuing cats from trees isn’t always a priority, even when it’s clear that the cat has had a rough start to the day.
Not giving up, our determined rescuer kept trying and eventually got in touch with the amazing volunteers at Greenpoint Cats.
These dedicated people, who surely have plenty of experience in coaxing cats down from high places, came to the rescue.

They showed up at the park, equipped with endless patience and probably some secret techniques for communicating with cats.
After some careful planning and maybe a few tasty treats, they successfully brought the frightened senior cat down from her leafy hideout.
The volunteers affectionately named her Tai Chi, which is a sweet tribute to the man whose morning routine unexpectedly led to her rescue.
After Tai Chi landed safely, she was taken to the vet for an important check-up. It was during this visit that the vet found out she was an older cat who needed some medical care.

Luckily, thanks to Greenpoint Cats, she got all the treatment she required to start feeling like her old self again, even if that ‘old self’ preferred to nap rather than play.
Following her vet appointment, Tai Chi moved into a caring foster home and, staying true to her friendly personality, quickly made herself at home.
She snuggled up next to her humans, becoming the perfect lap cat. In fact, she mastered the ‘loaf’ position, curling up into that adorable shape that just begs to be petted.
Soon enough, she was cuddling with her family, soaking in all the love and attention she truly deserved.
Turns out, Tai Chi really knows how to enjoy life, taking it easy like a pro. She prefers to lounge around instead of playing, and her favorite activities include napping.
Thanks to the loving care she received, Tai Chi was also able to get the dental work she needed for her few remaining teeth, which means she can finally eat without any pain.

Now, she enjoys a life of luxury where she is spoiled and adored every single day – and she totally deserves it.
Despite her tough past of being abandoned and even getting stuck in a tree, Tai Chi has kept her faith in humans and continues to give her family lots of cuddles!
