Stray Cat Walks Into A Stranger’s Car In New York And Refuses To Leave

What happened recently to Caitlin, a teacher and volunteer with Little Wanderers NYC, was far from what she expected.

She was driving home from school when she spotted a black and white cat stranded in the middle of the expressway, searching for safety.

Caitlin couldn’t believe what she was seeing and knew she had to help. After signaling to other cars to slow down, she carefully pulled over, determined to catch the cat.

However, little did she know, it would be much easier than she thought…

Once the road was clear, Caitlin began guiding the cat into her car. Without hesitation, the cat walked right in and immediately leaned into her, as if thanking her for the help.

The cat, later named Hendricks, was a bit stressed from everything she had been through, but after just a few moments with Caitlin in the car, she started to relax.

Hendricks took some time to explore the car, then settled comfortably in the driver’s seat and later curled up in Caitlin’s lap. She shared in an interview:

“Hendricks went into her car like she belonged there.”

Caitlin’s heart warmed as Hendricks melted into her arms. She then took the cat to the vet for the necessary care.

No one knew what Hendricks had been through or how long she had been roaming the streets alone, but her injured paw pads showed she had endured a lot.

Despite everything, Hendricks had a loving and friendly personality. The rescue team believed she had once had a home and had somehow ended up abandoned.

There were signs – she didn’t run from Caitlin and constantly sought her attention and affection.

While Hendricks napped peacefully in Caitlin’s lap, Caitlin spoke with the director of Little Wanderers NYC. Thankfully, they agreed to take Hendricks in and give her a chance at a better life.

That’s when her true transformation began. Hendricks was fully vetted, spayed, and treated for her injuries.

Thanks to the volunteers at the rescue, she was placed in a foster home. She finally had a warm place to stay, plenty of delicious food, and fresh water.

She was happy to have a safe home after so long, but there was still one thing missing – her forever human.

However, that didn’t go unnoticed. The rescuers decided to put an end to Hendricks’ wandering days.

They work hard to find her a forever home, a place where someone would love her no matter what.

I’m sure it won’t be long before Hendricks steals someone’s heart and finds her happily ever after.

She’s such a lovely cat that any cat parent would be lucky to have her. Until then, she’s enjoying her life in her foster home, getting belly rubs and all the affection she can handle.
