Starving Pup Climbs Onto Roof In New Jersey, Hoping Someone Kind Will Notice Him
Out on the streets of New Jersey, a little pup named Fiddler was totally on his own, trying to figure out where he belonged.
He didn’t have a warm bed or a friendly hand to hold, just the cold concrete and passing strangers.
All he really wanted was someone to notice him.
One day, feeling lost and desperate, Fiddler somehow climbed up on the roof of a house. Yeah, a roof!
He paced back and forth up there, probably thinking that being up high would help someone finally spot him and come to his rescue.
And luckily for Fiddler, that’s exactly what happened. A kind-hearted person saw the lonely pup up on the roof, snapped a photo, and shared it on Facebook.
That’s when the awesome folks from Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge jumped into action. As soon as they showed up, the rescuers saw just how sweet Fiddler was.
Right away, he showed he was ready to play, trust, and soak up all the love he could get.
The team talked softly, acted carefully, and got Fiddler down from his rooftop hideout. From there, everything started to turn around for this little guy…
Fiddler was barely a year old, but life had already been tough on him. He was tired, hungry, and covered in tangles and mats.
His ribs stuck out under his scruffy fur, showing that he hadn’t eaten nearly enough. The rescuers could tell right away how fragile he was, sharing in a Facebook post:
“Just a puppy, under a year old. Only 25 lbs, dangerously underweight. Full of hookworms.”
The rescue team carefully brushed through his coat, cleaned him up, and gave him the medical care he desperately needed. A good feeding plan was the first step to helping Fiddler feel strong again.
With each passing day, his eyes brightened a little more, revealing the lively pup underneath. The rescue shared:
“Fiddler is pure spirit. He wants to play. To love. To live.”
Now, Fiddler is a whole new dog. He’s a goofy, tall, and lanky ball of energy who can’t help but make everyone smile.
He’s got that silly puppy charm that grabs your heart as soon as you meet him. He loves running around with other dogs, soaking up every bit of love and attention he can get.
But Fiddler still dreams of a forever home. One where someone understands how much care his fluffy coat needs, and where there’s plenty of patience and love to go around.
He’d do best in a family ready to help him learn and grow with some training and routine. A house with another dog could be just the thing to make Fiddler blossom.
Everyone who’s met him believes that soon, Fiddler will find the perfect family who will cherish him like the treasure he is. After all he’s been through, he deserves nothing less than that.
