Wisconsin Woman Adopts A Kitten Who Wouldn’t Stop Crying Until She Figured Out What He Needed

Alana Hadley and her husband, Nathan, headed to the Wisconsin Humane Society, hoping to find a furry friend to welcome into their lives.
What they didn’t realize was that someone very special was already there… waiting just for them.
Only a few days earlier, two tiny kittens had been brought in after being found alone on the street. They were scared, fragile, and badly in need of love.
The ginger boy was named Ares, and his sweet little tabby sister was called Aphrodite.
The moment Alana laid eyes on the two kittens, her heart melted. She had only planned to adopt one, but Ares and Aphrodite were just too adorable to separate.
So she told the staff she wanted to take them both home. But then came the unexpected news: Aphrodite had already been waiting for her adoption to be finalized.
Alana was definitely a little heartbroken, but she knew the second kitten still needed her, and that was enough.
She brought Ares home, ready to give him all the love he deserved.
But nothing could have prepared her for just how upset little Ares would be.
He cried almost nonstop, wandering around the house and meowing like he was searching for something. Alana figured he might just need some extra love to settle in.
So she held him close, gave him endless cuddles, and gave him toys and stuffed animals that looked like other kittens, hoping it would comfort him.
But no matter what she did, Ares still seemed lost. Something was missing, and his little heart felt it deeply.
That’s when Alana finally realized: Ares wasn’t being fussy or clingy… he was grieving. He missed his sister, the one constant in his little life.
The one who’d snuggled up next to him every night. No blanket, no toy, not even the warmest cuddle could replace that kind of bond.
Feeling helpless, Alana reached out to the Wisconsin Humane Society. She explained everything, hoping for advice. Then, as if the universe heard their plea, something incredible happened.
The shelter called with unexpected news: Aphrodite’s adoption had fallen through. She was available again. And if Alana was still interested, she could come get her.
She instantly headed to the shelter, knowing exactly what she had to do.
The moment Ares saw his sister again, everything changed. The crying stopped. Ares was whole again, and his broken heart was finally full.
Alana shared the happy update with the shelter:
“They are doing good… They are very attention-seeking cats and loving! They both love to cuddle and purr like crazy when we are holding them. They sleep most of the day and they cuddle each other when they sleep!”
Now, they get to spend every day side by side, exactly the happy ending they deserved.
