Illinois Mama Cat Selflessly Accepts An Abandoned Kitten As Her Own

Meet Rihanna, a charming calico cat whose heartwarming journey began on the streets of Quincy, Illinois.

She was once a pregnant stray, fighting for survival, but her luck changed when Liv, a compassionate rescuer from “House of Six Cats” spotted a Facebook post about her and decided to lend a helping hand.

Rihanna was soon to be a mother, and although her spaying appointment was planned, she needed a secure place to care for her final litter.

Thanks to the local Humane Society, Rihanna and her little ones received the essential medical care they required.

When Rihanna first came into the foster home, her growing belly gave away the tiny kittens moving inside. After ten days of eager waiting, the moment finally came.

Rihanna gave birth to three precious kittens – two boys and a girl. Foster mom Liv was overjoyed, watching the scene like a proud grandmother, cheering Rihanna every step of the way.

Now, young mama cats can sometimes be unpredictable, but Rihanna turned out to be an exceptional mother.

Just two days later, a touching surprise arrived for both Rihanna and Liv.

They received a call about a tiny newborn kitten in need of care, and Liv immediately knew that Rihanna would make the perfect foster mother.

Carefully introducing the “bonus kitten” outside the cardboard box, a heartwarming TikTok video captured Rihanna’s swift acceptance of the little one as if it were her own. As Liv wrote:

“She accepted this baby the second we set it outside of her box.”

Rihanna’s nurturing and protective instincts shone brightly, and she cared for all the chubby babies: a chunky orange boy named Drake, another orange brother named Eminem, a sister named Umbrella, and the Bonus Baby, Paul.

All of these names were inspired by artists who performed with Rihanna, the singer, and her female baby was named after one of her well-known songs.

All four of these adorable kittens found loving homes through the Quincy Humane Society. Rihanna and her “Mama’s Boy” Slim Shady were an inseparable pair, and they were adopted together.

Liv, the devoted foster mom, didn’t start out as a cat person. She began her journey in 2018 by fostering puppies and volunteering with the Humane Society.

By spring 2019, she had begun bottle-feeding two tiny kittens, and since then, she has cared for over 150 cats.

Her heartwarming TikTok videos have attracted more than a million devoted animal lovers.

Fostering comes with a mix of emotions, from the pure joy of nurturing new life to the bittersweet moments of saying goodbye.

Still, Liv finds comfort in knowing that her care has given these kittens a chance to become beloved pets in loving homes.

She treasures the updates from adopters and has formed lasting friendships through the cats she has helped.

Despite the occasional moments of sadness, Liv remains steadfast in her dedication to caring for more kittens.
