Stunning Puppy Tied To A Pole In California Waited Days For Someone To Notice Him

Some dogs just have that look in their eyes, the kind that tugs at your heart. Buckley was one of those dogs.

He was only six months old, still just a pup, but life had already handed him more hardship than any dog should ever know.

He had been living on the streets with homeless people who didn’t treat him kindly. There he sat tied to a pole on cracked cement, cars rushing by like he didn’t even exist.

No food. No water. No one to call his own. Just a little husky waiting, as if the next person walking by might finally be the one to change everything.

Imagine being that young and already having to wonder if you’ll ever be loved. It was heartbreaking.

And then, it happened. A rescuer noticed him. Maybe it was the way Buckley’s big brown eyes followed her, still soft and hopeful, even after all he’d been through.

Maybe it was just fate… Either way, she knew right away she couldn’t walk away.

That’s how Buckley’s new chapter began. Instead of being left on the streets, he was brought into the care of Love Leo Rescue.

From the very start, everyone who met him could tell he was something special. He didn’t carry bitterness, even though he had every reason to.

He carried sweetness. Warmth. A spark of joy that refused to go out. The shelter’s director, Sasha Abelson, shared in an interview:

“Buckley is an exceptional dog. He is well balanced and loving and didn’t let his previous experiences change his lovely personality.”

Ever since he moved into a foster home, Buckley has truly blossomed. He has a yard to explore, friends to play with, and humans who remind him that he is safe.

He loves hanging out with his new dog buddies, bouncing around with that typical husky energy, as the shelter shared:

“Buckley is a typical, happy-go-lucky husky. He loves playing with his dog friends and learning new skills. He loves going for hikes and also cuddling near his humans. He is just a perfect family dog.”

What makes Buckley so special isn’t just that he’s beautiful or smart, though he’s both. It’s the way he loves, the way he dives into life as if he’s making up for lost time.

Hiking trails, learning new tricks, wrestling with dog friends, or curling up near his people, he enjoys it all. He’s the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home.

Now, Buckley is still waiting for the family who will be his forever.

What he needs is an active home where adventures are part of everyday life, and maybe even a playful dog sibling to keep him company, as the shelter said:

“Buckley would love to go into a home that is active and preferably a home with another playful, balanced dog. We think a dog brother or sister would be wonderful for him.”

Buckley is ready. Ready for hikes, ready for car rides, ready for late-night snuggles, and ready to finally belong.
