Black Labrador From Oklahoma Becomes Completely Unrecognizable After 2.5 Years
Buster, a lively four-year-old Labrador from Oklahoma, was well known for his shiny black coat and cheerful, outgoing nature.
Then something unusual began to happen. Bit by bit, his glossy black fur started to turn white.
The change came on gradually, but it was striking enough to surprise everyone around him and spark plenty of questions about what might be happening.
Thankfully, Buster wasn’t ill. What he developed was vitiligo, a condition that causes patches of skin or fur to lose their pigment.
While it’s something more commonly associated with people, seeing it appear in a dog came as a real surprise.
The change started off subtle, with just a few small white patches appearing around his mouth and chin, as his owner, Matt, shared on Reddit:
“He would lose his black fur and new white fur would come in.”
The small patches didn’t remain that way for long. They gradually spread until more and more of his coat was affected.
Within just two and a half years, Buster’s once-dark fur had transformed entirely, leaving him with a stunning, snowy-white coat.
Matt couldn’t help but share his dog’s incredible transformation with the world. So, he posted some pictures of Buster’s change, along with a caption:
“My boy Buster (4yo) has completely changed from black to white over the course of the last 2.5 years.”
Matt’s followers couldn’t get enough of Buster’s new look, and the photos quickly went viral.
