Mississippi Man Spends A Day Copying His Cat And Learns Life From His Feline Friend
Abram Engle from Purvis, Mississippi has earned a reputation as a devoted social media cat dad, always ensuring his feline companion, Kurt, enjoys a life filled with toys, cozy beds, cat trees, tunnels, and plenty of daily adventures.
But recently, Abram decided to take his dedication a step further, by spending an entire day living just like Kurt.
Curious about his cat’s daily routine, Abram committed to mimicking Kurt’s every move, documenting the experiment on Instagram.
What followed was not only a hilarious and heartwarming video but also a unique insight into the world of a pampered house cat.
The day began with a good stretch, a ritual Kurt never misses. Abram followed along, jokingly admitting in the video:
“I really respect Kurt for this one on his routine.”
With joints loosened and energy boosted, it was time for breakfast. Abram, eating his usual granola bar on the floor, discovered that mealtime felt very different from the dining table routine he was used to.
Kurt, of course, seemed entirely unimpressed with his human’s attempt at feline dining etiquette.
Breakfast was followed by Kurt’s favourite pastime: bird-watching through the window. Abram joined, peering out alongside his cat.
At one point, Kurt gave him a quizzical, judging look. Abram returned it with equal curiosity, resulting in an adorable staring contest that had viewers laughing and commenting online.
After their window session, the pair moved on to what Abram described as the day’s recurring theme: loafing on the floor.
Stretching out in familiar “cat positions,” they enjoyed a few moments of calm, though Kurt soon tired of floor life and headed to his favourite cat tree for a nap.
Abram, unable to match Kurt’s impressive sleep stamina, settled onto the couch with a blanket instead, joking:
“I kid you not, Kurt slept for probably like six hours in this one spot. I can’t sleep this long. So I stayed in there with him while he just continued to sleep.”
When Kurt awoke, it was time for their second meal, again enjoyed on the floor, followed by a grooming session and, predictably, more lounging.
Abram faithfully followed his cat’s lead, experiencing the simple yet oddly relaxing rhythm of a day in Kurt’s life. Reflecting on the experiment, he said:
“Living like a cat for a day is filled with some interesting things, and it’s really relaxing, but that’s mainly because it’s filled with a ton of sleeping.”
While Abram didn’t uncover the mysteries of feline behaviour, his experiment offered plenty of laughs and an adorable showcase of Kurt’s personality.
