After Being Abandoned By Her Mom, Tiny Kitten Finds A New Feline Family In Bedford

Not every hero is easy to spot – sometimes they arrive on four paws with a soft coat and gentle whiskers.

This is the story of a special feline family that opened their hearts to a fragile gray kitten, offering her the chance to start again.

She was the only one of her litter to survive, born to a feral mother who never cared for her. Left on her own and vulnerable, the little one’s future seemed very uncertain.

Thankfully, Courtney, a foster volunteer with Rescue Right in Bedford, New York, heard about the little kitten and immediately stepped in.

She named her Buffy and gave her round-the-clock care. Courtney explained in an interview:

“Her mom wanted nothing to do with her, so I started bottle-feeding her.”

Without this intervention, Buffy’s chances of survival would have been slim. But, little did they know, the kitten was about to get a new furry family.

A few weeks earlier, Courtney had taken in Lola, a rescued cat who was heavily pregnant. Lola soon gave birth to eight healthy kittens and proved to be an attentive and loving mother.

Seeing Lola’s instincts, Courtney had an idea – to introduce Buffy to this feline family.

Their first meeting was nothing short of magical. Lola instantly accepted Buffy, allowing her to nurse and taking on the role of her new mother. Courtney recalled:

“Lola took her in immediately and let her nurse and became her mom. I knew Buffy was going to be okay when Lola accepted her into her family.”

Buffy also gained playful and affectionate step-siblings, and soon, snuggles and playtime became part of her daily routine.

Courtney continued supplementing Buffy’s diet to make sure she stayed strong and healthy. She shared:

“She has fit right in and even started using the litter box, eating food and drinking water.”

Surrounded by warmth and love, Buffy blossomed and seemed perfectly at home with her new family.

As the kittens grew, they became affectionate little companions who adored attention from humans. Courtney said:

“She loves being up high or sitting in my lap. But, she loves to snuggle with her siblings. It’s her favorite thing ever.”

When Lola’s kittens were ready for adoption, they all found loving homes. But what about Buffy? Was she left all alone again? 

Absolutely not! Buffy had stolen Courtney’s heart, and in a heartwarming twist, she chose to remain by her devoted human’s side.

Courtney grew really attached to Buffy, who gained a lot of fans on social media. That even encouraged Courtney to make Buffy her own Instagram profile where everyone could keep up with her daily activities. 

Buffy’s story proves that even in the toughest situations, hope and kindness can make a world of difference. 

Thanks to a caring foster and a loving feline family, she found safety, warmth, and endless love.
