Woman Drives Deep Into Georgia Woods And Finds Two Tiny Lives Shivering In The Brush

Sometimes rescues start with a simple call, but end up turning into a full-on adventure you’ll never forget.
That’s exactly what happened to Audray Luck, the heart behind Luck’s Rescue.
One day, she got a message about two Schnauzers spotted deep in the woods at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia, hiding somewhere so far off the trails that nobody had been able to reach them.

Audray hopped in her car right away and drove through twisting forest roads, thinking about those tiny pups and hoping she would find them before night fell. She shared in a YouTube video:
“I just could not believe how deep in the woods these dogs were.”
When she arrived, she had to hike a little through the underbrush. And then she saw them: two tiny balls of fur, huddled together, trembling.

They were so small, so fragile, and so terrified of humans that they didn’t move at first.
Audray could see it in their eyes that they had been on their own for too long, and life in the wild had been harsh. She shared:
“I was shocked. They were small and very scared.”

Audray didn’t rush. She knelt down in the leaves, talked to them softly, offering bits of food, inching closer one step at a time.
Every movement mattered because she knew if she scared them, they might run even deeper into the woods.
The pups would later be named Chewbacca and Ewok, and they were tiny warriors.

Their fur was matted, their bodies underweight, and their eyes were wide with fear, but there was also a spark in them that told Audray they weren’t ready to give up.
Slowly, carefully, she earned their trust. After what felt like hours of coaxing and soft voices, she finally scooped them into her arms.
For the first time in who knows how long, Chewbacca and Ewok felt safe.

Once they were in the car, their relief was visible. The next stop was the groomer, where they got much-needed haircuts.
From matted, nervous little pups, they came out looking like two completely new dogs, ready to embrace life.
The transformation was amazing.

Even with everything they’d been through, Chewbacca and Ewok were resilient.
They quickly warmed up to Audray and her team, and little by little, they started to show joy and trust.
Tiny wags, playful jumps, and sniffing everything in sight were all signs they were starting to feel safe and happy.

Today, Chewbacca and Ewok live together in a forever home where they are loved, safe, and cherished.
They still cuddle up close, but now it’s because they feel secure and happy, not because they’re scared.
Those deep woods of Cloudland Canyon may have been where their journey began, but they will always be a distant memory now that their hearts and their home are full.
