Arizona Woman Finds Her Lost Kitten In The Most Unexpected Place
If you’ve ever lived with a cat, you already know how much they love squeezing into the strangest, tiniest spaces. From boxes and baskets to shoe racks and drawers, no corner is off-limits when it comes to feline hide-and-seek.
But one foster parent from the United States recently experienced the ultimate disappearing act, when her kitten managed to vanish right under her nose and reappear in a place no one could have imagined.
Meet Chanel, a three-week-old foster kitten with a perfectly round face and an attitude that already screams “diva in training.” Her foster mum, Britney, had been caring for her around the clock, bottle-feeding and keeping her warm.
One ordinary day, Britney set Chanel down on the table in her living room for just a moment while she went to warm up her milk bottle. When she came back, the kitten was gone.
As Britney shared on Twitter:
“I literally went to heat up her bottle and the next thing I know she’s gone.”
At first, she thought Chanel had simply crawled off somewhere nearby. But after searching every corner of the room, under the sofa, behind the curtains, even inside the laundry basket, there was still no sign of her tiny foster baby.
Minutes turned into hours. Britney tore through the house, checking closets, cupboards, and even her own slippers in desperation.
She called Chanel’s name over and over, but all she heard was silence.
As worry turned into panic, Britney began to cry. She felt helpless and guilty, unable to understand how such a tiny kitten could disappear from a closed room in a matter of seconds.
Then, in the middle of the chaos, Britney’s grandfather came into the house. Oblivious to the frantic search that had been going on, he reached for a tissue box on the table, and that’s when he froze.
Inside the tissue box, nestled snugly among the tissues, was Chanel. Completely safe. Completely asleep.
The kitten had somehow wriggled her tiny body into the box and made herself the coziest little nest imaginable, all while Britney had been tearing the house apart trying to find her.
Of course, Britney shared the story and photos online, and it didn’t take long for Chanel’s mischievous nap to go viral.
Cat owners everywhere could relate, and many admitted they’d had their own “missing cat” panic before finding their furry friend asleep in a box, drawer, or handbag.
Thankfully, Chanel was perfectly fine, just tired from her adventurous day. Britney, though relieved, joked that she’ll never look at a tissue box the same way again.
