Property Managers Find Heartbreaking Surprise After Reading A Note On An Empty House In Kansas
When a group of Point Guard Management employees headed to one of their recently vacated properties in Wichita, Kansas, they thought it was going to be just another routine day: check the place, plan a few renovations, nothing out of the ordinary.
But as soon as they reached the front porch, something instantly tugged at their hearts. There, taped to the door, was a handwritten note.
It wasn’t from the former tenants; it was from the neighbors. The note explained that when the people moved out, they didn’t take everyone with them. They had left behind a cat… and her newborn babies.

Patricia Mitnaul, who handles social media for the company, started searching the property right away, hoping the little family was still nearby.
It didn’t take long before a small cat appeared and walked straight up to her as if she’d been waiting for someone to finally notice her.
This sweet mama clearly hadn’t lost faith in people. She rubbed against Patricia’s legs, purring and weaving between her feet like she’d just found her new best friend.

Patricia gave her some food and water, and right away, the cat’s trust was clear. She was so friendly, so loving, and just desperate to be cared for. Patricia called her Sissy.
But while Sissy was safe, her kittens were nowhere to be found. Patricia searched the yard, the porch, and under furniture, but nothing.
She couldn’t just leave without them, though. And luckily, she didn’t have to.

A little later, someone spotted movement near a small cutout at the bottom of the house leading into the crawl space. Tiny paws.
Patricia called a local rescue team for help, and together, they got to work.
They managed to catch one furball in the garage, but the others darted back under the house.

That’s when Kirsten, one of Patricia’s coworkers, bravely volunteered to crawl under the building to try to save them. It was dark, dusty, and cramped, but she didn’t give up.
Finally, after a long, tense wait, the rescuers used food to lure the kittens out one by one. When the last little one was safely in their arms, everyone let out a sigh of relief.
The family was rushed straight to the vet, and it turned out they’d been just in time.

Sissy and her babies were suffering from severe roundworms, and without help, they might not have made it. Thankfully, treatment worked, and soon the little family started to heal.
Now, they’re safe, cozy, and on their way to better days at the rescue facility.
Sissy is healthy again, and her kittens are growing stronger every day, almost hitting that two-pound milestone. The tiniest one is still catching up, but with all the love and care they’re getting, there’s no doubt they’ll all make it.
And in the sweetest twist, Kirsten, the same kind soul who crawled into that dusty space to save them, plans to adopt one of the kittens herself.
The rest will soon be looking for homes, ready to bring joy to families of their own.
It’s amazing how a simple note on a door led to such a beautiful rescue. Because of a few people who refused to walk away, Sissy and her babies now have a whole new beginning.
