Milwaukee Kitten With A Permanently Curled Ear Finds Friends He Longed For

When you first meet Flip, it’s hard not to fall in love right away. He’s small, bright-eyed, and has one perfectly curled ear that makes him look like he’s always half-listening for adventure.

But behind that cute little twist is a story of hope, kindness, and one very determined kitten.

The orange tabby showed up all alone at the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission

No mom, no siblings – just a brave little soul with a huge heart. Shelter volunteers noticed his unique ear right away and gave him a name that suited him perfectly: Flip.

Even in such an unfamiliar place, Flip wasn’t scared for long. He greeted every person he met with an instant purr, rubbing up against anyone who’d stop to say hello.

Shelter life can be rough on tiny kittens, so when the team at Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue heard about him, they jumped into action. Before long, Flip was packed up, ready to start his new adventure.

The moment his paws touched his foster home floor, it was like he’d stepped into a whole new world.

He sniffed everything, climbed everywhere, and let out the tiniest meows as if announcing, “I’m here!”

His curled ear and bouncy personality quickly made him the star of the house. April from Thrifted Kittens shared in an interview:

“Flip is the cutest, sweetest little guy. He’s full of personality.”

Once he’d had his fun, Flip’s favourite thing was curling up in his foster mom’s arms, purring so loudly you could feel the vibration through your chest.

He made himself right at home and wasted no time winning over the resident pets.

Flip’s foster sister, a patient older cat, became his first playmate. He’d bat at her tail, chase her shadow, and then fall asleep beside her when he was tired out.

The best part? He wasn’t just a cat lover. April said with a laugh:

“We found he gets along with other cats, dogs, and even tolerates toddlers. Flip will play with anyone.”

But it was the family dog, Mable, who completely stole his heart. Despite being many times his size, Flip saw her as his new best friend. The rescue team shared:

“Flip absolutely adores dogs. He was getting cozy with his canine foster sister over the weekend, and it melted our hearts.”

The two quickly became inseparable. Flip would nuzzle into Mable’s fur, climb onto the couch beside her, and fall asleep using her as a pillow.

Wherever Mable went, Flip was right behind her, trotting along like her little orange shadow. April added:

“He didn’t want to leave her side.”

Now, Flip is thriving. He’s a cheerful, confident kitten surrounded by people and animals who adore him. His funny ear, once a curious quirk, has become his signature charm.

With his boundless energy, loving nature, and fearless heart, Flip is a reminder that sometimes the smallest animals carry the biggest joy.

Thanks to a few caring hands, this little kitten with the curly ear finally got the life he was always meant to have.
