Abandoned Cat Spends Days In New York Building, Waiting For Those Who Broke Her Heart
One day, a shy gray-and-white cat wandered into a building in New York City.
At first, the tenants assumed she had accidentally slipped out of someone’s apartment. Maybe she belonged to a resident. Maybe her owner would soon come looking.
But days passed. No one claimed her.
She stayed in the same spot, tucked into a corner, patiently waiting, as if holding onto hope that the person she trusted would eventually return. It soon became clear that she had been left behind.

In her new home, Fortune quickly made herself comfortable. She rolled around on the warm floor and happily “made biscuits” by kneading the air with her paws. Her gentle purring filled the room, a sign of her growing trust and happiness.
When she wasn’t busy with these adorable antics, Fortune would ask for belly rubs, making up for all the affection she had missed in the past.
A vet examination revealed that Fortune was about two years old and had a microchip. Unfortunately, the microchip led to a disappointing end, no owner came forward.
Despite everything she had been through, Fortune won everyone over with her sweet and loving personality. She didn’t ask for much, just a warm, safe place to call home.
