A shelter room filled with adorable, bouncing kittens is usually a place of joy. But for one senior cat, it was a heartbreaking reminder of how easily older animals can be overlooked.

"I was like, we cannot leave the shelter without him," she said, making the life-saving decision to take him home.

Knowing he craved companionship, Jessica came up with a beautiful solution to ease his loneliness.
She decided to rescue a few other cats who also had FeLV, bringing them into her home so he could finally have feline friends who shared his condition.

She added a special spin to his name, officially dubbing him "Mr. Whiskers" to give the senior boy a little more authority.
