Florida Woman Finds A Cane Corso At Her Door And Her Heart Breaks At His Shocking Condition
It began like any other day for TikTok user Hunter (@hunterhowells2) until she heard scratching outside her garage door.
At first, she thought it was just a raccoon and tried to ignore it. But the moment she opened the door, everything changed.
There stood a massive black Cane Corso, but he didn’t look strong or fierce like the breed is supposed to.
He was skin and bones, trembling from exhaustion, yet his tail wagged softly, as if begging someone to see him… to save him.
Hunter later named him Bane, and it was clear he had survived something terrible. His ribs poked through his dull coat, and his eyes held fear, sadness, and desperate hope.
Hunter wrote on TikTok:
“He was looking for anyone and anything to help.”
At only 85 pounds, far below the normal weight for a Cane Corso, Bane’s fragile condition was shocking.
According to the American Kennel Club, these dogs often exceed 100 pounds. But Hunter and her family didn’t care about any of that. The only thing that mattered was helping him.
They brought him inside, gave him a warm bath to wash off the dirt, ticks, and fleas, and carefully cleaned the cuts all over his body.
Hunter shared a photo of him curled up in his new bed with the words:
“He picked the right home to come to because no animal should be left to die like this. What a cruel world we live in.”
It didn’t take long for the video to explode on TikTok. Within hours, it gathered hundreds of thousands of views and an outpouring of love from animal lovers everywhere.
Comments flooded in. One person wrote:
“That poor baby was so thin. Glad he found help.”

“Once he’s back to normal, he’ll be an amazing dog!”

And slowly, day by day, Bane began to change.
With proper food, medical care, and endless affection, he started to heal, both physically and emotionally.
His eyes brightened, his tail wagged more, and he began trusting again.
Hunter posted updates showing him gaining weight, enjoying belly rubs, and discovering toys and playtime. She made a promise to her followers, and to Bane:
“Bane will forever be safe now.”
Today, Bane barely resembles the starving dog who appeared at her door. His coat is glossy, his body stronger, and his spirit almost glowing.
He spends his days napping in warm sunlight, playing with toys, and soaking up the love he had been denied for so long.
Bane’s journey is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the animals who show up in our lives unexpectedly are the ones who need us the most.
And often, by saving them, we end up healing a part of ourselves too.
