Cat Who Adores His Stuffed Animal Finally Gets A Real Sister

As we grow older, we all eventually outgrow our stuffed animals and replace them with something more real. But if you thought this was behavior only reserved for humans, think again!

One feline hero in today’s story is here to show that even cats enjoy playing with stuffed toys.

Meet Theo, a kitty so attached to his stuffed toy that his mom decided to get him a real feline sister.

Theo’s owner, Alyssa, was going through a lonely period in her life and was in desperate need of some feline company. Theo, being a playful kitten, was the perfect candidate for that companionship.

But being a kitten, Theo had endless energy, and the cat toys Alyssa had at home just weren’t enough to tire him out.

As things usually go, Alyssa, along with all the cat toys scattered around the house, could only do so much. It was time for something new.

Alyssa shared that the idea to get Theo a stuffed animal came from her mom:

“My mom gave me a little bag of three stuffed cats and was like, ‘It’ll be like he’s in a litter.’ And I was like, ‘That’s ridiculous.’”

But of course, Alyssa quickly realized that “Mother knows best,” and she was right!

Theo picked out his favorite stuffed toy, a black and white cat, and instantly adopted it as his little companion.

Alyssa recalled:

“It was, like, his exact size. So, he mostly wrestled with it, but you could tell he would try to pick it up, and, like, carry it with him. Then as he got bigger, he would cuddle with it more.”

Even as Theo grew older, he never lost interest in his stuffed cat. He kept playing and cuddling with it, and Alyssa began to feel guilty that her furry friend was so content with just his stuffed toy. That’s when she decided to get him a real cat.

So, she went to the Austin Animal Center in Texas and adopted a cute kitty named Zelda.

At first, Theo was a bit upset, as any cat would be with a newcomer, but Zelda’s energy and playful spirit quickly captivated him. Alyssa said:

“He was so interested in how fast she was jumping off the walls.”

Soon, Zelda had Theo wrapped around her paw, and the two of them became completely obsessed with each other!

One morning, Alyssa walked in to find Theo and Zelda cuddled up together. She said:

“He was already cuddled up with her, and he was, like, treating her in place of said stuffed cat. He was already licking her head, and had her, like, in his cat bed, in his cat tree. Even when I got a new cat tree, they were sharing the old one before I, like, showed them that they had separate ones that they could go into now.”

From then on, they were inseparable. Whether playing, napping, or grooming each other, they were always together.

Alyssa believes that Zelda made Theo feel like he had finally found his own little family.

As for the old stuffed cat? Don’t worry – it hasn’t been forgotten! Both Theo and Zelda still enjoy playing with it, treating it like just another member of the family.

Alyssa absolutely adores her two cats, and as a fellow cat lover, I can’t help but join in her appreciation!

I’m so happy she decided to expand her feline family. After all, a house full of cats is a house full of love!
