Arizona Couple Runs A DNA Test On Their Dog, Unprepared For The Shocking Results

Zira’s story began in an Arizona shelter overflowing with dogs and barely enough space or resources. As a little pup, she had no clue what the future held for her.
All she knew was that her life was on the line.
Along with her siblings, Zira was put on the euthanasia list for no reason other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But then, something amazing happened.
Michaela Hyle, a woman with a big heart, heard about the puppies’ situation and couldn’t let them down. She rushed to the shelter, ready to do everything she could to save them.

Once she got there, she found Zira and one of her brothers, the last two survivors, still waiting for someone to come and save them. Watching them broke Michaela’s heart.
She knew right then that she couldn’t just walk away. So, she took the siblings home.
And so began an amazing new chapter for the pups. Michaela adopted Zira, and her brother found a wonderful family to take him in.
No more fear of being left behind. No more wondering what would happen next. Just warmth, love, and a place to finally feel safe.

Zira grew up into a sweet, playful, and snuggly dog. But even though her life was full of joy, there was something about her that made Michaela curious.
Her unusual look didn’t quite match any typical breed, and while the shelter had labeled her a Rottweiler-German Shepherd mix, she didn’t really fit that description.
Michaela’s father joked that she might actually be a coyote, and her husband started to agree! The more Michaela thought about it, the more she wanted to know the truth.
That’s why her husband thought it would be the perfect surprise to get Zira’s DNA tested. Michaela was so excited and couldn’t wait to solve the mystery once and for all.

Excited to share the moment, the couple made a TikTok video. But before opening the results, they made their guesses.
Michaela’s husband was convinced Zira had some Carolina Dog, Siberian Husky, and even a coyote in her. Michaela, on the other hand, guessed she was part Cattle Dog and Carolina Dog.
But when the results came in, they were in for a huge surprise! Their dog wasn’t anything like they expected.
Zira ended up being a combination of 20 distinct breeds!

Zira was a total mutt with a mix of breeds that no one saw coming.
The biggest shock for her owners was that her highest percentage was Rottweiler, and there was no trace of the Carolina Dog they were so sure about.
And, to their relief, there was no coyote DNA either!
Her results revealed an unexpected blend: Australian Cattle Dog, Siberian Husky, Pit Bull Terrier… and that was just the beginning.
She also had traces of American Staffordshire Terrier, German Shepherd, Border Collie, Chow Chow, Golden Retriever, and even a bit of Chihuahua. The list just kept going!

Even though the results were totally unexpected, Michaela and her husband couldn’t have been happier. They finally had answers, and now they knew exactly what made up their sweet, unique Zira.
All the guessing, the jokes, and the mystery had led to this moment, and while Zira turned out to be nothing like they expected, it didn’t change a thing.
She was still the same loving dog they adored.
And now, whenever someone asks if she’s part coyote, they can finally laugh and say, “Nope, just a little bit of everything!”
