Security Camera In Arizona Captures Desperate Dog Chasing After Car That Just Abandoned Him
Before getting a pet, it’s important to understand that it’s a lifetime responsibility that should be taken very seriously.
Unfortunately, today, almost anyone can get a pet – even those who may eventually abandon them on the streets.
That’s exactly what happened to a poor pup named Benji. In the streets of Arizona, security cameras captured the heartbreaking moment he was pushed out of a car and left behind…
Poor Benji had no idea what was happening. He was tossed from the car and abandoned, but he didn’t understand what that meant. Maybe he thought his family was just playing with him.
Despite being confused, Benji refused to give up. He started chasing after the car that had abandoned him until his tiny legs gave out, and he could no longer keep up.
His family heartlessly abandoned him, moving on as if he had never existed. However, luck soon smiled on Benji.
Just moments after being left behind, a Good Samaritan spotted him. Realizing that Benji had been abandoned and needed help, the kind person gently scooped him up and brought him to the Surprise Police Department.
Despite the traumatic experience, Benji remained a friendly and loving pup who quickly captured everyone’s hearts at the department.
Sergeant Rick Hernandez, public information officer for the Surprise Police Department, shared in an interview:
“He immediately gravitated towards men, women, and everybody in the departments. Lots of tail wags, lots of belly rubs, and lots of smiles from our staff.”
After that, Benji was then transferred to the Arizona Humane Society, a place where dogs like him get a second chance.
The shelter staff welcomed him with open arms, and it was as if he’d completely forgotten his past life. He quickly flourished with his new humans and friends.
He was energetic, playful, and so friendly that the staff knew he would make the perfect companion.
Besides offering him plenty of love and attention, Benji was vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered at the shelter.
There was only one thing left for him – finding his forever home, one that would truly be forever.
Benji’s loving nature made it easy for him to find the right family. One officer from the Surprise Police Department couldn’t stop thinking about him. Benji had made such a strong impression that she eventually decided to adopt him.
After everything he had been through, Benji, the 2-year-old chihuahua, is now an official member of the Surprise Police Department family and is living his best life. Hernandez added:
“We’re really going to allow Benji to dictate how he’s going to support not only our officers but our community.”
His new family is thrilled to have him and can’t wait to see him grow, blossom, and thrive.
Benji’s story reminds me that sometimes we have to go through tough times to reach something even better. I guess that’s life, so let’s all live it to the fullest, just like our little Benji.
