Dog With A Rare Condition Found Outside LA Shelter Along With A Note That’ll Break Your Heart

In a world where countless dogs are left to fend for themselves, only a lucky few ever get a second chance. And Qwerty? He was one of the fortunate ones, but not before enduring a rough start.
Qwerty Cosmo was found tied outside a shelter, patiently waiting with nothing but a note beside him, scribbled in a child’s handwriting. Filled with love yet tinged with sadness, the note read:
“I love my dog. Please don’t hit him. It’s a boy.”

Qwerty’s owners hadn’t abandoned him out of cruelty. They just didn’t know how to care for a dog like him – a pup born with short spine syndrome, which made him look different from other dogs.
But instead of seeking help, his family left him behind, hoping someone else would give him the life he deserved.

When shelter workers spotted Qwerty, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Despite his unique appearance, he wagged his tail and greeted them with the sweetest energy, as if he knew his life was about to change.
The shelter reached out to Roadogs Rescue in California, where Nikki, a rescuer with a heart of gold, immediately stepped in.

Instead of placing him in a foster home like usual, she took him in herself. She wanted to understand him, to make sure he got the best possible start before finding a forever family.
Qwerty was a ray of sunshine from the very beginning. His condition didn’t slow him down one bit.

He made friends with other dogs, ran across the beach, and soaked up every bit of love and adventure that came his way.
He may not have been able to leap onto the couch or sprint for hours, but none of that mattered to Qwerty. He was happy, so incredibly happy, and Nikki knew deep down that the perfect family was out there waiting for him.

That family turned out to be Julie and Scott, a couple from Florida who had experience in caring for a dog like Qwerty. Their beloved pup, Cuda, had also been born with short spine syndrome, and when they saw Qwerty’s face, they knew it was meant to be.
The resemblance was uncanny, and though their hearts still ached from losing Cuda, they were ready to give another dog a loving home. And so Qwerty found his forever home with them.

His new home was everything he could have hoped for: filled with love, new siblings, and people who adored him just the way he was. He would never be left behind again, as his new owners shared on Facebook:
“He’s a strong boy and a happy boy who lives in the present. I want his former people to know he’s going to be okay. I wish they would have reached out for help rather than make the choice they did because Qwerty was clearly loved. Maybe he wouldn’t have had to start all over. He is one of the lucky ones because he made it. Too many don’t.”

Now, Qwerty spends his days living life to the fullest. He plays, makes new friends, and charms everyone he meets.
His family shares his adventures on Instagram, showing the world just how amazing he is. Once a lonely pup left outside a shelter, he’s now the happiest short-spined dog in the world – loved, cherished, and exactly where he belongs.
