Luna’s rescue wasn’t just lucky. It was a moment of pure magic.

For two long days, the pup was missing, alone, and stuck in freezing water, while her family searched everywhere, holding onto hope.

No one gave up, even when the hours kept passing and there were no signs of her.

What happened next was a beautiful reminder of what people can do when they care enough to come together.

It all started when Luna was out for a regular walk with her owner. But something spooked her, and suddenly, she bolted, dragging her entire 8-meter leash behind her.

Just like that, she vanished. Her family looked high and low, calling her name and hoping to spot even a glimpse of her. But Luna was gone.

That’s when her family reached out to a charity called Drone to Home. They’re a group of incredibly kind folks with a network of drone pilots and volunteers who specialize in helping families find their lost pets.

The moment they got the call, they jumped into action.

Luna had only been spotted once after she ran, as the charity’s founder, Phil James, shared in an interview:

“Luna had an 8-metre-long lead on, and she got spooked and pulled it out the owner’s hand. Luna then ran and ran. There was one sighting around 20 minutes after leaving her owner, and then she wasn’t seen again.”

Then, 48 hours later, the drone team finally found her.

She had gotten tangled up in her long leash, which had snagged on some debris in a ditch. The poor girl was stuck, cold, and scared in near-freezing temperatures.

Her tiny paws were soaked and sore from standing in icy water for two days. But she stayed strong.

Thanks to the drone, they were able to track her down in a six-foot ditch. Phil and his colleague Rebecca worked together to get her family to the exact spot.

And when they finally reached her, it was such an emotional moment. Luna was tired and hurting, but she wagged her tail the moment she saw them.

She was ready to go home.

Her paws were in bad shape from the cold and being stuck for so long, but she didn’t care. She was just so happy to be back with her people.

The moment she got in the car, she curled up and finally relaxed.

Luna was taken to the vet right after the rescue. She was given antibiotics for an infection in her feet, but the good news is that she made a full recovery.

Her family even bought her a GPS tracker so they’ll never have to worry like this again.

The drone footage of the rescue was posted on Drone to Home’s Facebook page, and people all over the internet were moved by Luna’s story.

The video quickly went viral, with hundreds of thousands of views and so many emotional comments. Everyone was touched by how hard the team worked and how determined they were to bring this pup back home.

It’s clear Luna is one lucky girl. And this rescue? It’s just one of the many reasons why Drone to Home’s work matters so much.

Luna’s story ended the way every lost pet story should: with happy tears, warm hugs, and a very grateful pup finally heading home.
