Trash Collectors Freeze In Shock After Discovering A Pile Of Abandoned Kittens In The Bin

Sharing is caring!

One day, a group of waste collectors were out on their usual route, ready to start their day like any other. As they rolled up to a house and prepared to empty the bin, something unexpected caught their eye.

Instead of the usual trash, they noticed something soft and fragile nestled on top of a piece of cardboard. Their hearts skipped a beat as they realized it wasn’t just trash. On top of the trash were five tiny kittens, so small and fragile, barely a week old.

Their tiny bodies, eyes still tightly shut, were nestled together on a piece of cardboard, completely unaware of the danger they were in. These innocent little lives had been carelessly discarded as if they were nothing more than trash.

The team couldn’t believe what they saw. How could anyone be so heartless to abandon such helpless creatures like this?

Without a second thought, the trash collectors immediately put their work on hold. They carefully picked up the fragile kittens and made their way straight to the nearest vet.

The vet quickly contacted the RSPCA, knowing these vulnerable little ones needed all the help they could get. Leanna Hone, an RSPCA inspector, described the scene in an interview:

“There wasn’t any sound of miaowing, but the bin was quite full so the cats were lying on a cardboard box near the top and were fortunately spotted as the bin was being picked up on the round.”

Thankfully, despite their rough start, the kittens were unharmed and safely placed under the care of the RSPCA who named them Molly, Morel, Penny, Magpie, and Saffron.

As days passed, their tiny eyes started to open, a sign that they were beginning to grow and heal. After they were fed and cleaned up, they were placed in foster care.

The owner of the home, who had no idea what had been left in their bin, was horrified to learn about the kittens. The RSPCA staff is now investigating the case, giving their all to find out how these innocent kittens ended up there, as Hone explained:

“We are investigating the circumstances of this cruel abandonment… It is frightening to think what could have happened to these young kittens had they not been spotted by the refuse collectors.”

They expressed concern for the kittens’ mother, urging anyone who might have any information to come forward and help them get to the bottom of it.

Everyone involved is thankful that these precious kittens, who came so dangerously close to a heartbreaking fate, were saved in time.

Their journey could have ended so differently, but instead, they’re safe, healthy, and in the care of people who truly love and protect them. Each day, they grow stronger, gaining the strength and resilience they’ll need to thrive.
