Florida Family Searches For Lost Husky After Storm And Finds A Shocking Surprise
Who doesn’t feel uneasy during a powerful thunderstorm? Even I’ll admit, those loud cracks of thunder can make me jump.
But while storms can rattle us, the ones who often need the most comfort are our pets. With their heightened senses, animals can pick up on changes in the weather and even sense events like earthquakes or storms before they happen.
Still, that doesn’t mean they face them without fear. Pets who struggle with anxiety, past trauma, or general nervousness can be especially shaken, and in those moments, they look to us for reassurance that everything will be okay.
That’s exactly what happened to Corey and Emma Moriarty, a couple in Florida who recently endured a fierce thunderstorm.
As the winds howled and thunder boomed, they noticed one of their beloved dogs had become extremely distressed. Their first instinct was to comfort him, but then came the real shock — when they looked around the house, he was nowhere to be found.
Corey and Emma immediately began searching for their Husky named Titan, who had never shown fear of thunderstorms before. Emma shared in an Instagram post:
“We get really bad thunderstorms in South Florida sometimes and this was actually the first one that affected Titan.”
After a thorough search, the couple witnessed a shocking scene. Titan was found curled up in the bathtub, waiting for the thunderstorm to pass.
The couple was heartbroken seeing their beloved pup in such a state, especially because it was the first time they had to deal with his fear of thunderstorms. Emma added:
“He’s not bothered by fireworks or thunderstorms normally but this one really freaked him out for some reason. Hopefully this won’t happen again but we’ll always take care of our boy.”
Despite the shocking scene, Corey knew exactly what to do. He rushed out, only to return with Titan’s favorite blanket and plushie.
Gently, Corey climbed into the bathtub, wrapping Titan in a soft blanket before pulling him close. The frightened husky tucked himself into Corey’s arms, and little by little, his trembling eased. With his best friend right beside him, Titan finally began to relax, reassured that he wasn’t facing the storm alone.
Later, the couple decided to share the clip online, hoping it might encourage other pet owners to comfort their animals during stressful times.
To their surprise, the video quickly spread across social media. Thousands of people commented, praising Corey’s compassion and sharing their own stories of pets frightened by storms.
