A Heartbreaking Discovery

Every Sunday, a dedicated rescue team would head out to a local spot known as the hideaway. Their mission was simple: feed the colony of feral cats and kittens that called the area home.

It was usually a routine visit, filled with the familiar faces of hungry felines eagerly awaiting their meals. But on one particular Sunday, the routine was shattered by a heartbreaking sight.

Hiding In The Shadows

They came to the conclusion that a full amputation was necessary. Removing the leg was deemed the absolute best practice to keep him comfortable and pain-free for the rest of his life.

A Beautiful Bargain

Before the surgery, his rescuer made a heartfelt promise to the little cat. "Give me one week of fight, and I’ll give you years of happiness," he told him.

Hopscotch held up his end of the bargain. The surgery went smoothly, and though his life was changed forever, his recovery went incredibly well.

In almost no time at all, the resilient kitten started getting the hang of walking around on three legs. His spirit remained completely unbroken.

As Hopscotch healed, he transformed into a massive snuggler. He found deep comfort in just hanging out close to his rescuer, often spreading out across his lap to make happy biscuits.
