This adorable two-year-old domestic cat was born with a rare and striking feature – not just two ears, but four! Despite this unique mutation, Yoda’s health is in great condition, and his hearing is exceptional.
However, Yoda wasn’t always as fortunate. Along with his siblings, he was put up for adoption, and his journey to finding a forever home wasn’t without its challenges.
The special gray kitty with four ears faced a rough start, but his remarkable qualities were bound to win the hearts of those who truly appreciated him. Here’s his story!
Because of his unusual appearance, Yoda was overlooked by potential adopters, with everyone choosing other kittens from the litter instead.
As a result, the eight-week-old kitten was left without a home, making him the only one from his litter still waiting for a family.
I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and this four-eared cat was no exception. He remained without a home simply because he hadn’t yet met the right people
One day, Valerie and Ted Rock came across Yoda in a cage at a Chicago bar. They were immediately drawn to his unique features and instantly fell in love with him.
They adopted the kitten and named him Yoda, inspired by the iconic, pointy-eared Star Wars character.
After bringing him home, their first move was to take Yoda to the vet, where the staff was amazed by the four-eared kitten. Valerie recalled:
“We have spoken with other vets in our acquaintance, and they likewise had never encountered anything like this. We began to realize that we had something very special. As a result, he has been an indoor cat and has a chip installed in case he gets lost.”
Recognizing how special Yoda was, Valerie and Ted grew concerned that someone might try to steal him. While cats with this rare condition aren’t entirely unheard of, they are incredibly uncommon, making Yoda even more remarkable.
Yoda’s extra ears are most likely the result of a genetic mutation, but the best part is that they don’t cause him any discomfort or affect his hearing in the slightest.
Instead, they only add to his unique charm, making him a one-of-a-kind companion.
Despite his unique appearance, Yoda has a heart full of love and an incredible personality.
He’s affectionate, brave, curious, and loves being surrounded by his family, living his best life with the care they give him.
