Hairless Florida Cat Loves Bath Time So Much She Even Has Her Own Shower Cap
Most of us know all too well that cats and water usually don’t mix. From avoiding rain puddles to putting up fierce resistance at bath time, the typical cat would rather stay as far away from water as possible. Even the sound of running water is often enough to send them darting in the other direction.
But, as with so many things in life, there’s always an exception to the rule. And in this case, that exception comes in the form of a unique and charming Sphynx cat named Kiri. Unlike most of her feline counterparts, Kiri doesn’t dread bath time—she actually looks forward to it. For her, being in the water isn’t a nightmare, but a source of comfort and joy.
Today’s story is all about Kiri and her surprising love affair with the bathtub, proving once again that cats will never stop surprising us.
Her dad Ren Maxwell, a Florida resident, recently posted a video of Kiri on TikTok that took the internet by storm.
Ren loves sharing his feline friends with the rest of the cat community online. He posts adorable cat videos regularly, and everyone seems to be in love with his amazing feline family.
However, this particular video of Kiri earned him ‘internet fame’ with more than 2 million views. You might be wondering what’s so special about this particular video.
Well as I’ve already said, witnessing a cat who enjoys water and bath time is not something you see every day. In addition, Ren made a custom shower cap for Kiri to protect her ears.
Because Sphynx cats don’t have fur, they also lack the natural protection that fluffy-coated cats enjoy—especially around sensitive areas like their ears. Without that barrier, water can easily get in and cause discomfort during bath time.
To solve the problem, Ren came up with a clever and creative idea. She designed tiny shower caps just for Kiri and her sister Neytiri, who is also a Sphynx. The little caps fit snugly on their heads, keeping their ears safe and dry while still allowing them to enjoy the warm water.
It was a simple solution, but it made bath time so much easier and far more comfortable for the pair. Plus, the sight of two hairless cats in their custom shower caps was as adorable as it was practical, quickly becoming a favorite moment to share with friends and fellow cat lovers.
In the video, Kiri was having the time of her life. With her adorable shower cap, she was enjoying treats while her dad gently massaged her. However, once the bath time was over, Kiri refused to get out.
Ren tried to lure her out calling her to jump on the towel. Eventually, she jumped out, but once he took her shower cap off, adorable Kiri jumped right back into the tub! Take a look at Kiri and her adorable shower cap!
Although cats don’t require regular bath time, Sphynx cats do! Since they are hairless, all the oil build-up is not getting absorbed. This means they need a bath now and then to avoid having acne or other skin issues.
Luckily for Kiri, this means she will enjoy many baths in the future and I sure hope Ren keeps posting these adorable videos.
