Delaware Firefighters Turn Heroes For A Tiny Kitten Found Under A Car Hood
In a sweet twist of fate, a group of Delaware firefighters turned into heroes for one tiny, furry life in need.
When the Minquas Fire Company #1 in Newport received a call about an unusual situation, they expected maybe a mechanical issue , not a rescue mission involving a stranded kitten.
But that’s exactly what they found: a frightened little stray tucked tightly beneath the hood of a car, clinging to safety in all the wrong place.
The firefighters carefully got to work, gently maneuvering around the hot engine until they were finally able to reach the kitten.
Despite his ordeal, the little tabby , now named Blaze , was calm and curious, as if he somehow knew he was in good hands.
Once free, Blaze didn’t just get rescued , he got the full VIP treatment. The crew proudly loaded him into their firetruck for the ride of his life, sirens and all, and drove him straight to the Faithful Friends Animal Society (FFAS) for care.
As the shelter shared in a post:
“There’s never a dull moment here at Faithful Friends! Minquas Fire Company #1 found a stray kitten in Newport, in the hood of a car. After safely rescuing him from the vehicle, the kitten , now named Blaze , got a first-class ride in their firetruck to our shelter.”
When Blaze arrived at FFAS’s new adoption center on Airport Road in New Castle, the veterinary team immediately gave him a full check-up. To everyone’s relief, Blaze was perfectly healthy , no injuries, no burns, just a bit of grease and a big story to tell.
The shelter later shared another update saying:
“Blaze received a thorough exam from our vet team, and will soon be available for adoption!”
The staff couldn’t help but gush over the brave little kitten who’d gone from trapped and terrified to safe and snug. They also praised the firefighters who didn’t hesitate to help, showing that heroes don’t always just save people , sometimes they save paws, too.
This adorable rescue has since warmed hearts across Delaware, serving as a reminder of how compassion can make all the difference.
Poor Blaze started his day stuck in a dangerous situation, but thanks to quick-thinking firefighters and the loving hands at FFAS, his story turned out just right.
Now, Blaze is waiting for his next chapter , a forever home filled with love, warmth, and maybe a nice sunbeam or two.
