Bottine is an adorable fluff who arrived at her local shelter as a 7-week-old abandoned kitten along with her five siblings.
Like some of her littermates, Bottine was born with leg deformities, but she doesn’t let this obstacle stop her from living life to the fullest.
Bottine’s owner shared a picture of the entire litter looking for a suitable foster willing to take care of the little ones.
A kind individual agreed to take them in and contacted the shelter for professional help, especially concerning their legs.
After a thorough vet examination, it was determined that four of the six kittens had twisted legs that prevented them from walking properly.
They had developed rubbing sores, as well as some toe abnormalities including missing toes or claws embedded in the pads.
Moreover, they were all infested with ear mites, worms, and other parasites, and suffered from stomach issues and diarrhea.
Little Bottine was born with two deformed front legs and one inward-bent hind leg, which limited her mobility.
However, from day one, this resilient kitten looked beyond her disability, determined to live as any other ‘normal’ kitty.
Thanks to her nurturing foster home, she thrives, embodying the spirit of a true fighter.
Describing sweet Bottine on their Facebook page, the shelter said:
“Bottine is curious and fearless. Despite her challenges with her front legs, she manages to climb onto the couch and bed. We often find her nestled in the couch cushions or bravely scaling her cat tree. She’s incredibly determined, using her elbows to move around, climb onto furniture, ascend stairs, and even reach the first level of her cat tree.”
They added:
“Bootie is self-sufficient. She has an adapted litter box with low entry and pee pads. She loves life and sees no obstacle in her way.”
The most important thing is that Bottine is in no pain; she gets around by pulling herself with her front elbows, yet remains a happy kitty, eager to explore the world she’s living in.
She adores playing with toys and spending time with her humans, showcasing her affectionate nature. Her foster family is equally enamored with her, sharing:
“She loves spending time with us, reveling in play. She is sweet, playful, and very sociable. She loves everyone: humans, other cats, dogs, and even bunnies.”
Sweet Bottine is a true fighter with a heart of gold. She is currently searching for a forever home with a family who will love and appreciate her despite her disabilities.
An affectionate feline, Bottine thrives on attention and enjoys spending time with humans and other animals.
The ideal home for this furry fighter would be one without children, allowing her owner to properly tend to her needs.
I hope this wonderful kitty finds her perfect match soon and continues to inspire us with her resilient spirit. The world needs more kitties like Bottine – we could all learn a great deal from her!
