No One Expected This Kitten To Make It, Until He Met A Friend Who Gave Him A Reason To Live

Sometimes, the smallest creatures have the biggest personalities, and that was definitely true for a little kitten named Puppet.
When he came to Greenpoint Cats in Brooklyn, seeking a better life alongside his mother, Marionette, and his brother, Moppet, he was just six weeks old. However, he was much smaller than expected.

Because of his stunted growth, Puppet was only the size of a two-week-old kitten. But, even with his challenges, Greenpoint Cats shared in an interview that he had an incredible spirit:
“He was the size of a two-week-old kitten (due to stunted growth). Despite his small size, he got a lot of energy and just wanted to be big and strong like his brother.”

Despite his rough start, this little guy had the “vocal pipes of an opera singer.”
Understanding his delicate condition, Puppet was taken to an animal hospital where he could get the constant care he needed.
With the help of skilled caregivers, he started to improve, and his tiny body responded well to the efforts to help him get better.
He even moved from being fed with a syringe to eating from a plate, which was a big step for such a small kitten. Greenpoint Cats added:
“Puppet is still so small and fragile, and there is no known cause of his condition.”

During this important time, Puppet found comfort in a warm incubator, where the hospital staff took great care of him, and he had two snuggle buddies to keep him company.
With the right care and good food, he became surprisingly lively, jumping around and playing with makeshift toys like any other kitten.
Just a month later, it was time to celebrate! Puppet finally weighed over a pound. Although he was still small compared to other kittens his age, he played with the energy of a tiger, full of life in his little body.
Even though he was feisty during playtime, he would turn into a purring ball of love the moment someone held him.

Meanwhile, Puppet’s mom, Marionette, and his brother, Moppet, were thriving together in their own little world.
While he was receiving specialized care from a veterinarian, Marionette and Moppet even found their forever home together, which was a bittersweet moment since Puppet was still on his own journey.
Puppet’s big appetite and love for life helped him grow stronger every day. As he got healthier and finally outgrew his incubator, his true personality began to shine.
He went crazy for toys, chasing every crinkle ball and feather wand with excitement, and he loved getting attention, showering his caregivers with purrs and cuddles.

It was obvious that while he was making amazing progress, he still needed a constant friend who could keep up with his endless energy and playful spirit.
That’s when they thought of Pop, a little cream-colored kitten in need of a friend. Pop was also a singleton and really longing for a buddy to play with.
The moment Puppet and Pop met, it was like they were meant to be together. They instantly clicked, playing around as if they had grown up together. Puppet was totally in love with his new pal, who greeted him with open paws and a playful swat or two, of course.
From that moment on, their lives turned into a fun adventure. They became partners in mischief, creating all kinds of cute antics and bringing endless joy and laughter to their foster home.

They wrestled and rolled around until they were too tired, collapsing into a fluffy pile and falling asleep in each other’s arms, showing true friendship.
They even quickly learned how to take over the office chair whenever it was left empty, a tiny, furry takeover.
Puppet, always looking up to Pop, followed him in all their playful escapades, like a little shadow copying his every move. Together, they were the perfect duo, stealing both chairs and hearts with their irresistible charm.
As the two lively young cats grew up, the moment for them to move to their forever home was approaching. And believe it or not, Puppet and Pop found their forever home together!

Just like during their time in foster care, they are always together, inseparable like two peas in a pod.
As for Puppet, he’s now full of life, all thanks to the love of caring rescuers and the steadfast friendship of another little cat who knew just what he needed.
