A Hopeful Addition
Taylor and her partner, Fernando, decided it was time to expand their family.

Ruby Becomes Squeaky Joe
When they first finalized the adoption, the new feline’s legal name was Ruby.
At the time, it seemed like a perfectly sweet name for a perfectly sweet cat.
However, they chose that name before they truly got to know her unique personality.
It didn’t take long for her true colors to show, and her name naturally shifted to Squeaky Joe—a moniker that stuck for good.
Making Herself At Home
Bringing a new pet into a home with an existing cat can sometimes be a delicate process.
But for Squeaky Joe, there was absolutely no hesitation or fear.
Taylor and Fernando didn’t have to do much in terms of acclimating her to the new environment.

Squeaky Joe is never shy about voicing her opinions to anyone who will listen.
She will open her mouth and squeak at absolutely anything that catches her attention.
She even squeaks at her own shadow, and often drags her toys around while screaming in the middle of the night.
People who hear her joke that she must be seeing ghosts or aliens, given how vocal she is.
The Intense Dinner Stare
Beyond her hilarious voice, Squeaky Joe has giant, piercing eyes that are always wide and alert.
She uses these intense eyes to her advantage, especially when it comes to mealtime.
Up to 40 minutes before dinner, she will approach Taylor and just stare at her without blinking.
Taylor often has to put her hand up and avoid eye contact to escape the cat’s intense, demanding presence.
Finding Her Bravery
Despite her bold personality with her family, Squeaky Joe used to be quite timid around strangers.
Whenever guests came over, she would get nervous and hide safely under the bed.
But over the past year, she has slowly become much braver in her own territory.
Now, she prefers to sit at a comfortable distance and supervise the visitors, making sure everyone knows it’s her house.
A Classical Connection
When she isn’t sitting in her favorite cardboard box on the couch, Squeaky Joe shares a beautiful bond with Fernando.
Fernando plays classical piano, and Squeaky Joe loves to be his dedicated audience.
She happily sleeps in her cat tower, watching over him and keeping him company while the music plays.
