Texas Woman Kept Kicking Her Neighbor’s Cat Out Of Her House Until A Tragic Accident Changed Everything
A persistent neighborhood cat refused to take no for an answer, eventually winning over the woman next door in a heartwarming rescue story.
An Adamant New Friend

It started with a simple greeting outside.
A friendly outdoor cat began following a woman every single day, making it very clear that he wanted her attention. "He was very adamant that we were gonna be friends," she recalled.
She knew exactly who the sweet feline belonged to. He was her next-door neighbor’s outdoor cat, but he seemed determined to spend all his time in her yard.
Despite knowing he had a home nearby, she couldn’t help but enjoy his company. "I was just super excited he latched onto me," she said.
Trying To Sneak Inside

The friendly feline, whose name was Larry, wasn’t content with just hanging out in the yard.
He started tagging along wherever she went, even trying to sneak into her car when the door was open. When that didn’t work, he turned his sights on her front door.
Larry would constantly try to sneak into the house, forcing the woman to gently but firmly turn him away. She had to remind him that he didn’t live there.
"Excuse me, Larry," she would tell him as she ushered him back out the door. "You gotta go outside."
A Terrifying Discovery On The Porch

For a while, their routine remained the same.
Larry would visit, try to sneak inside, and eventually be sent back out to his own yard. But one day, everything suddenly changed.
The woman’s husband stepped out onto the porch and found Larry lying there motionless. It was immediately clear that something was terribly wrong.
"Hey, I don’t think he’s OK," her husband called out. "He’s not moving."
The Vet’s Heartbreaking Diagnosis

Terrified for the sweet cat who had become such a big part of their daily routine, they rushed him to the veterinarian.
They waited anxiously as the vet examined the injured feline. The news was exactly what they had feared.
"Oh, yeah, he’s been hit by a car," the vet confirmed after viewing him.
Larry was badly hurt, and it was a miracle he had managed to drag himself to their porch to find help.
An Important Phone Call
Knowing that Larry had a long road to recovery, the woman knew she had to make a difficult phone call.
She contacted her neighbor, Larry’s owner, to explain the tragic accident. But she also had a very important question to ask.
"Can I adopt him and make him an indoor cat?" she pleaded with her neighbor.
To her immense relief, the neighbor agreed. "Yeah, I think that’s what’s best for him," the neighbor replied, officially changing Larry’s life forever.
Officially An Indoor Cat
After his medical treatment, it was finally time for Larry to go to his true forever home.
Bringing him inside as an official member of the family was an incredibly moving experience for his new mom. "It was pretty emotional when I got to bring him inside," she shared.
She was overwhelmed with gratitude that he had survived the terrifying ordeal. It was also a huge relief to finally let him stay.
"It was nice to be like, ‘You can come in. I don’t have to keep bootin’ you out all the time,’" she laughed.
Meeting His New Little Bro
Larry quickly settled into his new indoor life, and he wasn’t the only one thrilled about the arrangement.
He was introduced to another family pet named Blue, and the two hit it off immediately.
"Blue has loved him from the start," their mom explained happily.
The two animals quickly became inseparable companions in the house. "They are just little bros! They love each other," she added.
Safe Outdoor Adventures
Even though Larry was now safely an indoor cat, he still had a taste for the great outdoors.
He would occasionally try to sneak out the back door to explore his old stomping grounds. His mom knew she had to find a safe compromise.
They started working on training Larry to wear a harness and leash. This allowed him to enjoy the fresh air without the danger of wandering the streets.
Now, Larry gets to have his outdoor adventures while staying safely by his mom’s side.
A Life-Changing Personality
Larry’s journey from a persistent neighborhood stray to a beloved indoor companion has deeply impacted his new mom.
"He came to me for a reason. I truly believe that," she reflected. His big personality—which still includes getting into trouble in the fridge—brings endless joy to the house.
His presence has even inspired her to help other animals in need. "Ever since he’s been in my life, I’ve been able to rescue more cats," she shared.
Larry didn’t just find a safe home; he opened the door for others to find theirs, too.
