Unexpected Cat Visits Ohio Car Shop And Sparks An Unforgettable Surprise
It’s no secret that cats bring a special kind of joy to our lives. Some are mischievous, some are independent, and some, like Buster, seem to pick you rather than the other way around.
Ray, a car shop owner in the U.S., knows this firsthand. Buster isn’t just a pet, he’s an “employee” with a personality all his own.
Buster’s journey began as a stray wandering a local junkyard. One morning, about a year ago, Ray stepped out the back door and found the little tuxedo cat sitting there as if he’d always belonged. As shared in the video:
“It was a typical morning at the junkyard about a year ago. I went to the backdoor and there was this cat out there. He acted like he’d been with us forever.”
Ray jokingly says he believes Buster “came from above” and calls him a gift, and who could argue?
Buster immediately claimed the space as his own. He brought along some of his siblings, but Ray knew he couldn’t adopt them all.
Instead, he kept Buster at the shop to serve as the official office cat, and it quickly became clear that decision was perfect. Buster embraced his new role with gusto.
At the car shop, Buster has all the essentials: food, water, and a litter box. But he isn’t content to just lounge around.
He’s the PUR manager (Purr Officer of the Realm), always curious about what’s happening, attentive to visitors, and, in Ray’s words, “always on time.” Every month, he earns his spot as employee of the month, without fail.
Buster loves his human coworkers, but he also enjoys interacting with customers. He greets everyone with charm, often bringing smiles and laughter to those who stop by.
True to cat form, Buster has a mischievous side: he sits on cars, sneaks inside them to nap, and occasionally causes Ray to come running. Ray laughs about it: “I would say he’s my boss, and I’m not his boss by any means.”
Their bond extends beyond the shop. On weekends, Ray brings Buster home, where he can play freely in the yard, climb trees, and interact with other cats. He’s playful, energetic, and just as hilarious as he is at work.
Even after a weekend of fun, they return to the shop, and Ray admits he sometimes feels guilty leaving Buster behind, but Buster seems to enjoy his special reign over the junkyard.
“Sometimes I was feeling guilty about bringing him back to the junkyard. But, I think he actually likes coming back and being the only one there with all the attention.”
Whether at home or at the shop, Buster’s charm is undeniable. He’s smart, sneaky, playful, and loving, and the bond between him and Ray is obvious to anyone who meets them. Ray summed it up perfectly:
“It’s just been a kind of relationship that you don’t normally have with a cat.”
Buster proves that sometimes, cats choose us, and in return, they create friendships that are completely unique and unforgettable.
