NC Woman Brings Home A Tiny Abandoned Kitten And The Dog’s Reaction Is Priceless

NC Woman Brings Home A Tiny Abandoned Kitten

Anyone who’s ever shared their home with a cat knows they’re little bundles of mischief: curious, playful, and full of energy.

Add a ginger furball to the mix, and suddenly your house is alive with laughter and chaos.

Mel, already a devoted dog mom to two pups, recently found out just how much a cat could shake things up when she rescued a tiny, flea-covered kitten.

So how did this tiny feline find her way into Mel’s home, and what made her decide to welcome a cat into a dog-filled household? Let’s find out!

One day, while Mel’s mom was walking her dog Penelope, she came across a tiny orange kitten, all alone and without a family in sight.

The poor thing was covered in fleas and clearly in need of help.

The kitten’s desperate cries tugged at her heart, prompting Mel’s mom to scoop her up and bring her home.

Although they hadn’t planned on expanding their furry family – since they already had two dogs, Penelope and Kevin – leaving the kitten behind wasn’t an option. She wouldn’t survive on her own.

At home, their first priority was tackling the kitten’s flea problem.

When Mel saw the tiny orange ball of fur, her heart ached – not just for the kitten’s health, but also out of concern for their two dogs.

Without missing a beat, Mel gave the little one a much-needed bath, and they decided to name her Tangy.

Throughout the lengthy flea-fighting session, Penelope, still just a pup herself, sat nearby with wide, curious eyes.

She watched every move her mom made, clearly both fascinated and worried as the stubborn fleas were scrubbed away.

Once the kitten was dried off, Penelope couldn’t wait to meet her new friend. She was absolutely thrilled about rescuing Tangy.

She eagerly sniffed around Tangy, gave her a few affectionate licks, and wagged her tail with excitement.

To their surprise, the kitten seemed just as happy to meet Penelope!

Seeing their playful interactions, Mel knew she couldn’t let Tangy go. The kitten was staying, not only for her safety but also to keep Penelope company.

Remember Kevin, Mel’s other dog? While he was certainly a part of the family and a good boy, he never really got the hype surrounding Tangy.

Kevin, a rescue dog who had endured quite a bit in his past, wasn’t as playful as most dogs.

Unlike Penelope, who is all energy and excitement, Kevin is much more laid-back.

Still, from the moment Tangy arrived, Kevin accepted her as his little sister, though in his own calm and somewhat aloof way.

Since Kevin wasn’t as playful as Penelope would have liked, adopting Tangy turned out to be the perfect solution.

Penelope got her new playmate, and Kevin enjoyed the peace and quiet he preferred.

Tangy quickly became the heart of the family. With her and Penelope sharing such similar, energetic personalities, they immediately bonded.

From the very first day, they did everything together – playing, eating, cuddling, and sleeping, always in each other’s company.

Mel even shared a sweet video on Instagram, joking that her dog raised a rescue kitten.

In a way, it was true! Penelope never left Tangy’s side, teaching her all about life.

Today, Mel, her mom, Penelope, Kevin, and Tangy form one big, happy family. They all get along wonderfully, but the strongest bond is undoubtedly between Tangy and Penelope.

This dynamic pair still enjoys exploring the world together. Penelope is incredibly protective of her little buddy, while Tangy shows her appreciation by giving her a “purrfessional” spa treatment.
