Every day, numerous cats and kittens arrive at the shelter, but this one caught everyone’s attention. A pregnant solid-white feline was brought in from the street, seeking help and a warm place to deliver her babies.
The veterinary team quickly welcomed the cat and gave her a thorough examination. Surprisingly, she was healthy, extremely friendly, and clean, meaning she likely had lived with people before.
Despite her past, now she was at the shelter needing help. The staff placed her in a kennel while searching for her owners. Sadly, no one came to claim her, and her spirit also began to fade as she waited inside the kennel.
Realizing her urgent need for a foster home, the veterinary team reached out to Nikki, a dedicated fosterer for the shelter, and together they arranged a foster home just in time.
In her new foster home, the cat, later named Callooh, gradually started coming out of her shell. She loved belly rubs, which helped her relax and become a purring machine.
After only a few days, Callooh was brought back to the vet for a routine check-up, but what happened next took everyone by surprise. The shelter staff shared in an interview:
“Between getting home and checking on her several hours later, she had already given birth to three healthy-looking babies. A very short time later, her fourth and final baby was born. We believe this was not her first litter (but will be her last), as everyone and everything was spotless the next morning.”
Following the birth, Callooh became an attentive mother, constantly caring for her babies. Her true personality also started to shine through.
Over time, she formed a special bond with her caretakers, who ensured she and her babies had everything they needed.
The kittens, named Brilling, Wabe, Jubjub, and Wocky, grew rapidly, each developing unique and funny personalities. The shelter added:
“Wocky (white) is one of the loudest kittens I have come across. He loves being snug and cozy, so moving him away to weigh him nightly or give him a little snuggle usually results in squealing. Wabe, the other white kitten, is the complete opposite. He is very chilled out and loves a slow lifestyle.”
Brillig, the tortie beauty, is the smallest of them all, but that doesn’t stop her from wrestling with her siblings.
Once the kittens are ready to leave their mother and start new lives, Callooh will also be ready for a fresh start, and she’ll never have to worry about anything in her life ever again.
