Scared Cat From Washington Wouldn’t Let Anyone Near Him Until He Learned What True Love Is

Fostering cats isn’t as simple as it might seem, especially if you ask Jen, a seasoned foster caregiver from Washington.

She recently took in a scared, feisty tomcat at her foster home, Pokey Pot Pie’s Playschool for Wayward Kittens, and he quickly became a cat she would never forget.

The poor cat, named Grey, was so frightened that he refused to let anyone near him, filling the silence with his loud cries whenever left alone.

Grey spent most of his time hiding from Jen, and it seemed as though he might never grow comfortable around humans.

Fortunately, with her experience, Jen knew she needed to take things slowly. She began working with Grey, helping him gradually adjust to her presence. 

With the help of treats, toys, and other tools, she was able to make steady progress.

However, she felt it wasn’t quite enough. After giving it some thought, Jen decided to ask for help and came up with the perfect solution.

Jen decided to introduce her other foster cat, Philly Pokey, to Grey, hoping that the company of another feline might help him feel more at ease. And it worked like magic!

Philly immediately approached Grey and jumped into the box next to him, since Grey was too scared to come out.

At first, Jen was a bit concerned about how the two tomcats would get along, but things turned out much better than she had expected.

The two new buddies spent the night snuggling together, playing, and simply bonding. Remarkably, it was the first night since arriving at Jen’s foster care that Grey didn’t cry.

Each day, Philly helped Grey become braver and more confident. With Philly’s support, Grey made so much progress, slowly starting to come out of his shell.

As Grey became more at ease, he started exploring his surroundings, often following Philly’s lead. But the real breakthrough came when Grey finally approached Jen and let her pet him.

Jen was filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment, even though she had some furry assistance along the way.

Grey eventually discovered the joy of being petted and receiving all the attention he craved. Soon, he was snuggling in Jen’s lap, seeking love and affection, which she always gave him.

Thanks to Jen’s dedication and Philly’s companionship, Grey has blossomed into a happy, sweet, and even cuddly kitty, ready for adoption. 

He’s eager to see what the future holds, and if you ask me, I hope it’s nothing but the best for him!
