Sad Shelter Cat In Indiana Had Almost Given Up, Until She Saw A Familiar Face

Stories about lost cats finding their way back home always warm my heart, and this one is no exception. It’s about the unbreakable bond between a cat and her human, even after more than a year apart.
One day, a sickly gray cat was left at a vet clinic in Indiana. No one knew what she had been through, but she was clearly struggling.
The clinic staff took her in and gave her a safe place to rest, but they knew she needed more help than they could provide.
Before long, they sent her to IndyHumane, hoping the shelter could give her a fresh start.

At the shelter, a caring volunteer team worked tirelessly to nurse her back to health. She was in rough shape, but with time, she started to feel better.
No one knew where this kitty had come from. She wasn’t microchipped, and there were no clues to her past.
Her time at the shelter didn’t last long, though. About a month after getting healthy, she was adopted into a new home.
However, things didn’t go as hoped. The life she dreamed of didn’t turn out to be her happily-ever-after.

The poor kitty was returned to IndyHumane, heartbroken and confused. She had been rejected once again, which had taken a toll on her.
The shelter staff could see how sad and withdrawn she had become, as they shared in an interview:
“Foxy was put up for adoption again, and was not doing well adjusting to shelter life again.”
She no longer trusted anyone, not even the people who tried to show her kindness. It was heartbreaking to see.

Then one day, a woman named Erianna was scrolling through the shelter’s website. She had lost her beloved cat, November, over a year ago, the same time Foxy had been found.
And now, staring back at her from the screen, was a cat that looked exactly like November.
Erianna immediately knew it was her cat. She had tried to let go, but deep down, she never stopped thinking about November.
She refused to believe this was just a coincidence, so she rushed to the shelter, bringing along old photos of November for comparison.

The moment she arrived at IndyHumane, everything fell into place. The markings, the timeline, it all matched. There was no doubt that she had finally found her missing cat.
The shelter staff was baffled. It really seemed like Foxy was November, as they explained:
“The timeline lined up exactly with when she originally became lost, and the markings were identical. Our staff felt extremely confident that this was her cat!”
When Erianna finally arrived and called out to Foxy, something incredible happened. Foxy, the once distant and aloof cat, immediately responded.

She came right down to Erianna like nothing had changed. The shelter shared their excitement in a Facebook post:
“Fate works in amazing ways, and we’re so happy to see this beautiful reunion happen right before our eyes. Welcome home, Foxy (now November)!”
Erianna couldn’t stop smiling as she held November in her arms after more than a year apart. She felt like a missing piece of her heart had finally been put back in place.
After all the pain of missing her, having November back in her life is everything she could have ever hoped for. Check out their heartwarming reunion in this video.
