Despite Being Bullied And Shot With An Air Gun, This Stray Cat’s Trust In People Remains Strong

Despite Being Bullied And Shot With An Air Gun, This Stray Cat’s Trust In People Remains Strong

Sharing is caring!

It’s no secret that stray cats face tough challenges living on the streets. However, some have it even harder than others.

Chochi is one of those less fortunate strays. His life on the streets was brutal – enduring abuse, beatings, and even getting shot.

Despite it all, this resilient cat never lost his faith in the goodness of humans. And you might say that his faith eventually saved him.

Curious to know how? Let’s dive into his story!

How One Day Everything Changed For Poor Chochi

Struggling to survive on the streets all his life, poor Chochi had only known hardship. For him, life was but a series of unfortunate events.

One day, a compassionate woman noticed him staggering near her home, looking more like a creature from a horror movie than a cat.

Realizing he needed help, she took several photos and posted them on her Facebook, hoping someone would know how to help the poor guy.

It wasn’t long before Stoyan and Dessy, two passionate cat enthusiasts and rescuers, saw the photos and sprang into action. They got in their car and drove to the village where Chochi was found.

Despite his terrible condition – clearly a result of human cruelty – Chochi was still yearning for affection. When he saw Stoyan and Dessy, he approached them, eager for some loving attention.

Catching him and placing him in a cat carrier was surprisingly easy since he was so cooperative, almost as if he knew help had finally arrived. They took him to an emergency vet clinic for immediate care.

At the clinic, the veterinarian conducted a thorough examination and determined that Chochi needed surgery to remove an air gun pellet from his leg.

He also required treatment for his severely sunburned to prevent cancer, which might include removing the tops of his ears.

As a result, Chochi needed to stay at the clinic for an extended period.

After a couple of days, Stoyan and Dessy returned to the clinic where they were met with a completely different Chochi.

Since both of his surgeries were successful, he was feeling much better. Which only meant one thing – he could finally go home!

But, what was home for this special fluff? Well, Dessy’s mom agreed to take him in for a while. Just like her daughter, she was a passionate cat lover who already had a couple of feline companions.

Chochi absolutely thrived in his new home! He ate well, explored his surroundings, played with his friends, and loved to hang out with his new human.

Stoyan and Dessy made frequent visits to see how he was doing, and he seemed more than content until one day when something appeared to be amiss…

Dessy and Stoyan rushed over when Dessy’s mom called to report that Chochi had been feeling under the weather.

He was lethargic and unresponsive, eating less, and appeared constantly tired no matter how much he slept. Chochi spent most of his time lying down, and when he tried to walk, he limped noticeably.

Concerned for his well-being, Stoyan and Dessy immediately took him to the vet. At the clinic, Chochi could barely stand. The vet determined that another surgery was necessary.

For Chochi, this meant another lonely stay at the clinic…

A few days later, Stoyan and Dessy returned to pick up Chochi, who was now doing better than ever!

He was standing on his own, walking without any trouble, and had turned into a total purring machine – a sure sign of contentment every cat lover understands.

Both Stoyan and Dessy were relieved and thrilled to see their special feline friend thriving despite his many hardships.

They took him back to Dessy’s mom’s house to continue recovering until he was ready to go back to the kind woman who initially found him.

I always love stories with happy endings like this one. It restores my faith that despite the presence of cruelty in the world, there are people like Stoyan and Dessy who cherish cats and go out of their way to save as many as they can.
