People often say that fate has a funny way of surprising us. For Carl, a little stray kitten trying to survive the harsh realities of city life, fate stepped in at just the right moment.
One day, what seemed like a regular morning turned into a lucky break for Carl. Not knowing what to do and feeling desperate, the adventurous kitten jumped into a parked truck, following his instincts.
But guess what? This kitten was really smart because he chose the perfect truck to hop into for help – it was the NYC Little Wanderers Animal Rescue Group truck! As they shared in an interview:
“This sweet six-month-old kitten jumped into the truck of one of our long-time transportation volunteers. And he would not leave.”
The driver, taken aback but instantly charmed by this unexpected little guest, found it hard not to fall in love with the tiny adventurer.
However, they had no idea that this random meeting would change Carl’s life forever. With his playful curiosity and adorable personality, this little kitten quickly won over everyone he met.
Carl was one of the many stray cats wandering the streets of New York City, living off whatever scraps he could find.
He was a sweet and trusting cat who didn’t belong outside, and he decided it was time to change his situation.
Little Wanderers NYC immediately stepped in to give him the care he really needed. Volunteers worked together to make sure Carl got the help he required and found a safe place to land.
The adorable tabby sat in a carrier, happily poking his head out for some love. He was craving affection, purring loudly as he leaned into the volunteer who was transporting him.
The rescue group’s kindness and commitment played a huge role in his recovery journey. As soon as he arrived at the shelter, Carl was surrounded by love and attention.
They took him right to the vet, where he got a clean bill of health and then decided to share his story. When Elizabeth Liu, a caring foster parent, saw their post, she welcomed the young cat into her home.
After facing the tough life on the streets, Carl quickly adjusted to the cozy comforts of living indoors. He thrived under Elizabeth’s care, and his playful and loving personality really started to shine.
Since finding safety, Carl has become quite the affectionate cuddle bug and he loves to purr loudly.
He enjoys “helping” his foster mom, greeting her with the sweetest morning hellos to start her day.
Also, he has claimed his favorite spot by the window, where he basks in the sunlight and takes in the scenery as the day goes on. Elizabeth mentioned:
“He loves to follow me around all day, sleep on the couch next to me after eating, and chase his foster siblings around the house. He tried to be fierce and growl at my house orange cat, but that didn’t last long.”
Carl went from a shy little kitten to a brave and loving friend, and his change was truly amazing. He jumped into his new life with excitement, checking out every corner of his foster home and enjoying all the fun things about living indoors.
