St. Louis Residents Notice A Dog Under A Tree And Get A Feeling They Should Take Another Look
One summer morning in a St. Louis neighborhood, something unusual caught local’s attention. Beneath a shaded tree, a small puppy was lying completely alone.
At first, it looked like he was just resting peacefully. But when he got up, the heartbreaking truth became clear—a rope was tightly secured around the tree, attached to his harness.
There was no sign of anyone returning. Just a brown-and-white pup with gentle eyes, his tail still trying to wag each time someone passed by… only to slow down when they didn’t stop.

Neighbors were worried. Maybe his family was coming back soon. That was the hope.
So they stayed close, checked on him, and brought a few snacks.
But as the day stretched on, that hope started to fade. That’s when everyone realized that this poor pup wasn’t waiting for someone. He was tied and left behind.

That’s when Stray Rescue of St. Louis got the call. When the rescue team showed up, led by the amazing Donna Lochmann, it was game over.
The second they saw him, it was like he cast a spell, as the rescue shared on Instagram:
“When we laid eyes on this cute guy, we knew we were in love… This one-year-old has the cutest ears. The cutest paws. The cutest pink nose.”
They named him Beans. And oh, he was just as adorable as he sounds.

Untying him from that tree felt like the start of something new. Something good. He started wagging his tail like crazy and hopped right into the rescue van like he knew this was his fresh start.
And once he was inside? Instant love fest. The team couldn’t stop gushing over him. And Beans soaked it all up like a sponge. It was pure happiness.
Back at SRSL’s shelter, Beans got checked out by the vet, who gave him a clean bill of health. He just needed a warm bed, a full belly, and a whole lot of love.
And guess what? He got all three!

Beans didn’t have to wait long. One of SRSL’s amazing foster families opened their hearts and home to him. And from that moment on, he’s been living his best life.
He’s got belly rubs, soft beds, yummy treats, and best of all, people who care.
He’s still on the lookout for his forever family, but no one’s worried. Because once you meet Beans, you just know. He’s that kind of dog. The kind that makes you smile without even trying. The kind you don’t forget.
And his rescuers? They’ve got zero doubt. The perfect family is out there. And when they meet him, it’ll be love at first sniff.
