Ten-Week-Old Puppy Found Living Under A House In Los Angeles

Recently, a ten-week-old puppy was found living under a house under construction in Los Angeles.
No one really knew how the poor pup ended up alone in such a place. Some thought she had wandered away from her home, while others believed she was abandoned—which seems more likely.
Either way, the poor puppy had no life experience and had to survive on her own. That was a huge challenge, especially given her young age.

As the puppy, later named Savannah, had probably never experienced human love and touch, she was wary of strangers.
Her harsh start in life made her cautious, and her instinct told her to stay away from everyone.
While living under the house, she would sometimes dart out from her hiding spot, but only after making sure no one was around.
Then she’d quickly snatch food left by neighbors, eat it, and run back to safety.

The neighbors tried to care for Savannah by leaving food and even a blanket to keep her warm. But no matter what, she kept hiding from them.
Worried about her life and safety, the neighbors decided to reach out to an independent rescuer named Suzette Hall.
Thankfully, she was determined to help. Another rescuer, Mary Nakiso, also decided to step in, and the two women went to the house, ready to capture the puppy and get her to safety.
When they arrived at the location, they spotted Savannah running under the house. Unable to reach her, they spent hours waiting for her to come out.

Knowing it would be challenging, they set up a humane trap and continued waiting patiently. Suzette shared in an interview:
“I went to put more hot dogs in the trap and I noticed the food trail had been eaten. So, I decided to check the backyard and under piles of metal, I saw her little face looking out.”
Seeing her all alone, Suzette knew she had to get her out. With the neighbors’ help, they moved the metal construction pieces and saw Savannah.
The poor puppy was shivering with fear, but Suzette gently slipped a lead around her neck. After that, she continued coaxing Savannah until she safely got into the trap.
The moment Savannah entered the trap, everyone’s heart broke. They watched her with tears in their eyes, unable to understand how anyone could do such a thing to an innocent pup.

Savannah was there all alone, just trying to survive and stay away from cruel people. But now, for the first time in her life, she was at the start of something new.
Suzette took her to the rescue and arranged a thorough vet examination. Despite her rough start, Savannah was given a second chance to thrive.
She will finally get the chance to learn what true love is and how loving humans can be.
From now on, she will never have to worry about being alone again. I hope she soon finds her perfect match, someone who will love and cherish her just as she deserves!
