Texas Woman Takes In A Scared Farm Stray And His Endearing Quirks Change Her Life Completely
A frightened stray cat with a laundry list of medical issues finds the perfect forever home with a woman who adores his unique quirks.
A Frightened Little Man

When a frightened stray cat wandered up to a farmhouse, his future looked incredibly uncertain. He was small, shy, and completely overwhelmed by the world around him.
To make matters worse, the resident dogs at the farm were not happy about their unexpected visitor.
Fortunately, the veterinary technician who lived there knew exactly who to call to give this special little guy a second chance.
Summer had been looking for a cat when her vet tech friend reached out. The tech explained that a stray had shown up at her property and needed a safe place to land.
Summer didn’t hesitate to offer him a home and named him Hank. At first, Hank was incredibly timid. "He was really shy," Summer recalled. "He was just a small little man who was just very scared."
An Old Soul

Despite his rough start, Hank slowly began to settle into his new life. Summer decided to give him an arbitrary birthday in July so they could celebrate his milestones.
Currently, Hank is five and a half years old, though his rough-and-tumble past makes him seem much older.
"He looks really old," Summer admitted. He quickly became a frequent visitor at the local vet clinic as they worked to get him healthy.
A Laundry List Of Health Issues

It turned out that Hank’s senior appearance was due to a myriad of medical conditions. He has osteoarthritis, an enlarged heart muscle, and requires daily blood thinners.
He also has no teeth left to speak of. Perhaps his most striking feature, however, is his ears.
Hank suffers from auricular chondritis, a condition that caused his once-normal ears to fold completely in on themselves.
"There’s no room. You can’t get in there at all," Summer explained. While he can still hear a little bit, his hearing is no longer at a hundred percent.
The Softest Little Greaseball

Despite his extensive medical chart, Summer is incredibly grateful to have him in her life. She diligently manages his care, loving every quirky detail about him.
According to Summer, Hank is the softest cat she has ever touched. However, his coat has a rather unique, perpetually damp appearance.
"He is a little damp most of the time," she joked, noting that he always looks just a bit greasy.
Even after a thorough brushing, Hank simply puffs up and immediately turns back into a little greaseball.
The Signature Tongue Blep
Having no teeth has led to another endearing habit for the sweet rescue cat. Whenever Hank does a big stretch, his muscles force his little tongue to stick out.
Once it’s out, he often forgets to put it back in. Summer frequently catches him staring blankly with his tongue hanging out for surprisingly long periods.
"Look at this guy. Dang, it’s out so long today," she laughed. These silly moments only make her love him more.
An Unbreakable Bond
While Hank can be standoffish with strangers, he is completely devoted to Summer. "He is the most affectionate cat I’ve ever met," she shared.
The evenings are their designated snuggle times, though Hank’s version of cuddling is entirely on his own terms.
Even if Summer is trying to work, Hank will demand her attention, insisting on laying close and gently chewing on her fingers.
Weekend Slumber Parties
To make sure they both get some rest, Hank isn’t allowed to sleep in the bedroom during the workweek.
But when the weekend rolls around, the bedroom doors open for him. If Summer were to stay in bed all day, Hank would happily turn it into a nonstop snuggle fest.
He refuses to leave her side when he finally gets his weekend access, proving just how much he cherishes their time together.
Waiting By The Door
Hank’s loyalty is most obvious when Summer has to leave the house. Her partner often sends her photos of the little cat standing faithfully by the door, waiting for her to return.
The moment he hears the garage door open, he happily trots over to greet her. He is always thrilled to see his favorite person.
"I’m not great with words, but I’m good with letting this dude know I love him," Summer said. "We take care of each other, me and Hank."
