Texas Woman Stunned To Find A Shaking Furbaby Inside A Cardboard Box Near A Dumpster
Tina Holland is a devoted animal lover and proud parent to three dogs. Every day with her furry companions is an adventure filled with love and joy.
But one day, something completely unexpected happened – an encounter that changed their lives forever.
During her lunch breaks, Tina often takes her dogs for walks around her small office in Texas. On one of those walks, she noticed her pups acting strangely. They were sniffing around excitedly, clearly onto something.
Curious and a bit confused, Tina decided to follow their lead, only to make a shocking discovery. She shared in an interview:
“As I followed their gaze, my heart dropped – there, trembling and crawling on her belly, was the tiniest puppy I’ve ever seen. She looked utterly terrified and desperate for help.”
Next to the frightened pup sat a cardboard box, placed right by a dumpster. It was clear what had happened – she’d been heartlessly abandoned. Tina added:
“I noticed a box sitting next to the dumpster. Inside were a pee pad and a toy, remnants of a life that was so abruptly abandoned. It broke my heart to think that someone had left this defenseless little soul there, just 75 feet away from a busy road.”
Tina’s heart broke at the sight. Unable to turn a blind eye to her, she gently scooped the puppy into her hooded sweatshirt and carried her to safety. Tina recalled:
“She was shaking, either from fear or the cold. I completed my walk, cradling her close.”
Once back at the office, Tina gave the pup some water and checked for injuries or fleas. Thankfully, she was in good condition, but still needed expert care.
Therefore, she reached out to the rescue organization in Texas called Dawgs Fight Back. Without hesitation, they agreed to take the pup.
There, the dog got a new name, Peeka, as well as a temporary home, love, and care she so desperately needed.
After spending just a few days at the rescue, Peeka stole everyone’s heart with her lovely personality. The Dawgs Fight Back director, Alyson McDonnell, shared:
“She’s fantastic! Peeka has such a silly and sweet personality. She spends her mornings running outside with our big dogs. They chase each other or various bugs that fly by.”
Despite a rough start, Peeka is finally thriving. But her journey isn’t over just yet. She still has to find a forever home.
Alyson believes Peeka would be a wonderful match for an active family, especially one with kids or other pets to keep her company.
What matters most is that Peeka is now a healthy, happy pup ready to shower her future humans with love. She gets along with everyone and adores being the center of attention.
She’s just waiting to become someone’s new best friend, and hopefully, she won’t have to wait too long for her happily ever after.
