Have you heard about two extraordinary cats living at MaxFund Animal Adoption Center in Denver, Colorado?

If not, let me introduce you to Kelly and Guapo,  two adorable souls who have captured the hearts of everyone who’s met them.

Both were born with paralyzed hind legs, but that hasn’t stopped them from living life to the fullest.

They’ve become best friends and proved that love and friendship are far stronger than any challenge life throws their way.

Kelly arrived at MaxFund six years ago, and Guapo joined the center a year later as a stray.

Since then, they’ve been cared for by the staff and volunteers, patiently waiting for the perfect forever home where they can finally belong.

Adopting cats with disabilities can be more challenging than adopting healthy ones, but the shelter is dedicated to giving Kelly and Guapo the best life possible in the meantime.

And these two have made every day brighter for everyone around them.

The moment they met, they instantly clicked and formed a special bond. And what makes their friendship even sweeter is that both of them get around using only their front legs.

Despite their disabilities, Kelly and Guapo are full of energy and determination. Shelly, a volunteer at MaxFund, shared in a YouTube video:

“They run like little roadrunners. When staff lets them out daily for their run, sometimes Kelly is really hard to catch, because he just books. They’ve got very good mobility on their front, and they’re strong or arms, and they love to run around.”

The shelter’s current mission is to find them a long-term foster home or forever adopters.

Their medical needs are fully covered by the center, including all food and medications. Volunteers explain:

“We’re looking for a long-term or permanent foster for them or an adopter. Fostering Kelly and Guapo means all their medical care is covered by us, also their food. So, we would provide that dry food, as well as all the medications.”

Kelly and Guapo take their medicine twice a day, and believe it or not, they actually enjoy it! They know that after every dose comes their favorite part: yummy treats and extra attention, which makes the whole thing pretty adorable.

These two cuties do need a little extra attention because they can’t control their bathroom needs.

But despite this, they’re playful, affectionate, and full of love. Shelly added:

“Of the two, Kelly, the gray and white one, is a little more playful, and Guapo is a little more loving.”

There’s no doubt that anyone lucky enough to adopt these two will be blessed with endless moments of love, laughter, and furry companionship that warms your heart.

These cats are living proof that disabilities don’t define a life; they simply add a special kind of beauty to it, showing that strength, joy, and love can shine through even the toughest challenges.
