Missing Cat From Utah Shocks Everyone When Found Inside An Amazon Box All The Way In California
Cats are known for their curiosity, but sometimes that playful nature can take them much farther than anyone could imagine.
One adventurous kitty from Utah slipped into an Amazon return box without anyone noticing. That act sent her on a journey across state lines, hundreds of miles away from home.
Galena, a sweet six-year-old cat, was more than just a pet to her mom, Carrie Clark. She was her emotional anchor and her comfort through years of health struggles.
So when Galena disappeared one day, the family’s world felt like it stopped spinning. Posters went up, social media posts spread, neighbors kept their eyes peeled, but Galena was nowhere to be found.
The silence of not knowing was unbearable, as Carrie shared in an interview:
“Galena is a huge emotional support to me and has helped me get through many health challenges over the past six years… The anxiety and stress of not knowing what happened to her was excruciating.”
Then, a week later, Carrie received a text that Galena’s microchip had been scanned. Moments later, her phone rang.

The discovery came thanks to a warehouse worker named Brandy, who noticed something unusual while handling the box. Inside, nestled among steel-toed work boots, was a frightened and dehydrated Galena.
Brandy’s quick thinking saved her life, and she made sure the cat was safe until she could get her to the vet the next morning.
At first, Carrie thought the call was a cruel prank. California? An Amazon box? It made no sense.
But then, like puzzle pieces falling into place, the truth hit her. That oversized box they had shipped out days earlier was Galena’s accidental hiding spot.
She had snuck in when no one was looking, sealed inside and sent away with no chance to get out, as Carrie explained:

Miraculously, one small seam in the cardboard box had split just enough to let her breathe. The temperatures during her journey stayed mild enough to keep her safe. Against all odds, she survived.
The moment Carrie and her husband heard the news, they booked the first flight to California, as Carrie shared:
“We brought Galena’s pink carrier, food, favorite treats, and towels that smelled like home. We couldn’t wait to see her again!”
And when that moment of the reunion finally came, it was nothing short of magical. Carrie shared:
“It was an amazing reunion! Galena instantly stopped shaking and relaxed in my arms when I got to hold her again.”
Other than losing a little weight, Galena was perfectly healthy. Carrie called it nothing short of a miracle.
She also took the chance to remind every pet parent of two important things: always microchip your animals, and never forget to double-check those boxes before shipping them out. After all, you never know what curious paws might get into.
