North Carolina Woman Buys A Chained Pregnant Dog For $23, Then Realizes She’s Worth A Fortune
There’s nothing more heartbreaking than seeing neglected pets that once had all the love in the world.
Sadly, that was the fate of Pepper, a Pittie from North Carolina. She spent most of her life living outside the house on a six-foot chain, often without food and water.
For years, she didn’t know what true love was, until a kind woman stepped in and changed her life.
It all started when a woman named Allie spotted Pepper for the first time. Needless to say, her heart broke into thousands of pieces. Allie shared an Instagram post, saying:
“She lived her life on a chain, outside, tied to a house, with no proper food, water or shelter. It made me cry all day… literally.”
Knowing that Pepper deserved so much more than a life on a chain, Allie decided to get in touch with her owner.
She offered to help Pepper have a better life with food, shelter, and love. But then, Pepper’s owner made a shocking offer.
He told Allie that Pepper was pregnant and offered her to buy the dog. The most shocking part was when he said that if she didn’t buy her, he would sell her on eBay.
Although Allie hadn’t planned to adopt another dog, she couldn’t let Pepper’s life end like that. She immediately agreed to buy her.
She reached into her wallet, took out the $23 she had, and handed it to the owner. All of a sudden, Allie was going home with a new dog – relieved and happy to have saved her.
Despite not planning to adopt another dog, Allie and her husband, Ryan, were more than happy to welcome Pepper into their home and give her a new chance at life. But there was another surprise waiting for them.
They took Pepper to the vet for a thorough examination and necessary treatments, only to find out she wasn’t pregnant at all.
After returning home, Pepper quickly settled in, and watching her thrive for the first time in years warmed their hearts.
Their initial idea was to save Pepper and find her a new home, but after seeing how perfectly she fit into their family, they just couldn’t say goodbye to her. Allie added:
“The idea was to adopt her out but she’s just TOO GREAT to let go of.”
Allie and Ryan already owned another Pittie, and hoped the two would eventually get along.
After only a few days, Pepper transformed into a cuddle bug, showing her genuinely sweet and lovable personality.
Allie couldn’t understand how anyone could neglect such a sweet pup. She realized Pepper was worth so much more than she was paid for. She wrote in her post:
“Despite having a rough life, Pepper is the goofiest, cutest pit bull of a pup and loves Oliver, Indie and Ryan more and more each day… She’s going to live a great life.. with us.”
Pepper became the perfect family dog. She’s great with kids, her Pittie friend, and her human parents.
She spends her time, playing, cuddling, napping and appreciating every second of her new life, just as she deserves.
