Spooked By An Unknown Threat, Florida Cat Hides In A Wall Sparking An Urgent Rescue Mission

Stray cats are quick to scare, and when they do, their first instinct is to slip away into the safest hiding spot they can find. Sometimes, that means staying hidden for hours until they feel the danger has passed.

In one especially touching case, Alli, an animal rescuer, got a call from a local cat colony caretaker who had noticed a stray kitten tucked away inside a wall.

The little tabby, startled by something unknown, had squeezed herself into a corner of the wall where a brick was missing.

Alli arrived quickly, ready to help, but the kitten’s fear was so overwhelming that it made any attempt to reach her impossible at first.

Alli refused to give up on her so easily. What she did next, surprised everyone and proved how determined she is with what she does. Alli shared in an interview:

“It was going to be so cold that night, so I went right away and spent an hour in the rain coaxing her out of the wall. She would meow at me and reach her paws out to me, so I knew I just needed to give her time. She wanted so desperately to be out of the elements.”

Alli’s patience eventually made a difference. After nearly an hour of gentle coaxing and reassurance, the frightened kitten began to trust her. Little by little, she inched her way out of the wall and into safety.

Alli managed to give the tabby a few pets and that was when she melted away as though she felt the touch of love for the first time in her life. Alli added:

“I had a carrier with me, but all she wanted was to be held and loved.”

All of a sudden, it was like a completely different kitten. The tabby didn’t want to leave Alli’s side. She crawled into her arms and literally begged for attention. Alli recalled:

“She purred and made biscuits in my arms the whole way home. This tiny girl has a huge heart and wants nothing more than to get pets and love.”

Alli decided to name the kitten Arya, and when it became clear she didn’t have a family of her own, she quickly contacted Kristen, a foster volunteer with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue in Tampa, Florida.

Fortunately, Kristen didn’t hesitate to take this lovely furball in. The kitten instantly fell in love with Kristen, jumped on her shoulder, and cuddled her. Kristen shared:

“She was sweet immediately and wanted and still wants nothing but love. Pets, kisses, cuddles – she wants it all.”

Arya adjusted quickly to being around people, showing an unexpected ease with humans. But when it came to other cats and kittens, things were different.

She often hissed and growled at them, preferring instead to soak up the attention and affection of her foster family.

Now, Arya greets Kristen with sweet meows and purrs because she transformed into a real love bug. Slowly, but surely, she became more relaxed around fellow felines. Kristen added:

“Every day, she is getting more and more comfy with her fellow kitten foster friends and is even eating with them now.”

Arya has grown into a sweet cat who thrives on being the center of attention.

When she’s not seeking out affection, she enjoys perching on her cat tree by the window, soaking up the sunshine, or curling up in her cozy bed with a soft blanket wrapped around her.

Arya has made an incredible transformation since the day she was discovered, terrified and hiding inside a wall.

Today, she’s a wonderful cat, eager to find her forever family who will shower her with love and attention.

With her affectionate personality, it’s only a matter of time before she finds the perfect home.
