“12 Cats Lady” Has Everyone In Awe With Her Majestic Persian Cats

Sharing is caring!

Michelle, a proud owner of 12 Persian cats, happily calls herself a “full-time cat mom.” She shares daily glimpses of her life with these 12 feline friends on Instagram, saying:

“I’m happy, so it doesn’t really matter what other people think about me having this many cats.”

Michelle is truly breaking the “crazy cat lady” stereotype! She recalls how it all began:

“It started when we met our first cat, Yuki, on December 30, 2010. We took her home after rescuing her in the middle of the road where we found her dirty and freezing. After a while, we decided to adopt one more and looked for the same breed on an adoption site – but we actually saw two chinchilla Persians and couldn’t decide between them, so we adopted them both.”

So, starting with three, how did they reach 12 cats? The other nine were their kittens!

The 12 cats are named Karu, Kaya, Yuki, Goodie, Momo, Tiger, Shou, James, Yuri, Ai, Bruce, and Blackie.

Curious how Michelle gets them all to look at the camera simultaneously? Here’s her secret:

“I wave their favorite feather toy to get their attention and call the names of those who don’t look.”

Managing all these furry pals must be a challenge!

I don’t know how Michelle ever gets anything done with all these furry beauties.

While many find having 12 fur babies cute and cool, some consider it weird and even label Michelle as crazy.

“Many say it’s cute to have 12 fur babies, and it’s cool, although some think it’s creepy and weird and that I’m crazy. But I’m happy, so it doesn’t really matter what other people think about me having this many cats.”

So what’s the hardest thing Michelle has to do taking care of all these cats? Well, as I thought, it’s the grooming. Michelle says their eyes are a priority and keeping them clean is very hard.

Mealtime can be a juggling act too. Michelle knows each cat’s appetite, so she adjusts their portions accordingly.

“I know who eats a lot, so I put more in their bowl, so I can avoid them stealing another cat’s food.”

If you’re worried about all these cats producing even more cats…don’t. Michelle assures everyone that all her pets are now neutered and spayed, so there won’t be any more kittens in their home.

Bedtime is definitely interesting in Michelle’s household!
