Sad Cat Starts To ‘Shut Down’ In Indiana Shelter, Then She Hears Someone Calling Her Real Name
When a beloved pet goes missing, it’s easy to imagine the worst. Days stretch into weeks, weeks into months, and slowly, hope starts to fade. But sometimes, the story isn’t finished just yet.
In Indiana, a thin gray cat appeared at a local vet clinic. No one knew where she had come from, how long she’d been on her own, or what she had endured along the way.
All anyone could see were her fragile bones, her tired eyes, and the silent story they told, a life spent surviving, rather than living.
The clinic staff worked tirelessly to stabilize her, giving her warmth, food, and care. Still, it was obvious that a small clinic wasn’t enough to give her the full support she needed.
So the decision was made to transfer her to IndyHumane, a place where she could finally have the time, attention, and love required to heal fully.

Once she arrived at the shelter, volunteers worked tirelessly to nurse her back to health. She was in rough shape, but with patient care and time, she began to recover.
Her past remained a mystery. She wasn’t microchipped, and there were still no clues about where she had come from.
About a month later, after regaining her health, she was adopted into a new home. But sadly, it didn’t turn out as anyone had hoped.
The life she had been dreaming of didn’t become her happily-ever-after.

The kitty was returned to IndyHumane, confused and heartbroken. Being rejected once again had taken a toll on her.
The shelter team noticed just how withdrawn and sad she had become, sharing in an interview:
“Foxy was put up for adoption again, and was not doing well adjusting to shelter life again.”
Poor Foxy had stopped trusting anyone, even those trying to care for her, and it was heartbreaking to watch.

Then one day, a woman named Erianna was browsing the shelter’s website. She had lost her cat, November, over a year ago, the same time Foxy had first been found.
There on the screen was a cat that looked just like November. Erianna knew instantly that it had to be her cat.
She rushed to the shelter with old photos for comparison. The moment she arrived, everything made sense. The markings, the timeline, it all matched perfectly, as the shelter explained:
“The timeline lined up exactly with when she originally became lost, and the markings were identical. Our staff felt extremely confident that this was her cat!”

When Erianna called Foxy, the once-distant cat responded immediately. She ran to her mom as if no time had passed.
IndyHumane shared their joy on Facebook:
“Fate works in amazing ways, and we’re so happy to see this beautiful reunion happen right before our eyes. Welcome home, Foxy (now November)!”
Erianna couldn’t stop smiling as she held November after more than a year apart. The missing piece of her heart had finally returned.
After all the pain of being apart, having November back is everything she could have hoped for.
