Brandon Ringler is a young artist and skateboarding enthusiast who spends his days traveling across the United States in his van.
Among all the adventures he’s been a part of, one particular encounter changed his life forever, so let’s dive into this amazing story!
Brandon parked his van one day to go and run some errands, but once he returned to the parking lot something caught his attention.
A black furball was walking around in the middle of the parking lot. Brandon immediately approached the fluffy cat and offered him some water.
Although the cat was dehydrated, he ignored the water bowl and went straight into Brandon’s arms. It seemed like he was desperate for some love and attention. As Brandon said in a video:
“I felt like I kind of saw myself in him, and I instantly just wanted to help him.”
However, the black cat had a hidden agenda. Once Brandon gave him some attention, the black kitty immediately jumped into his van, making himself at home.
At first, Brandon wanted to help him, but he had no intention of adopting an abandoned cat that day. The cat, on the other hand, had different plans. As Brandon also shared:
“He just instantly decided ‘This is where I wanna be at.’ Buddha basically did choose me.”
With his new name, Buddha and Brandon were about to share all their future adventures!
After a vet visit and some proper meals, Buddha started to look like a healthy cat. However, what amazed Brandon was the way Buddha adjusted to his new life.
Since Brandon spent most of his days out and about in nature, Buddha had no problem joining him. As Brandon said:
“It’s super cool just being on a hike and then looking back and you just see Buddha cat walking behind you.”
This is when Brandon was absolutely sure Buddha was there to stay. He enjoyed the outdoor–indoor life Brandon was having and the two were a perfect match for each other.
Brandon even built a special cat bed in his van, so Buddha could properly rest after their hikes.
Although he experienced the luxuries of indoor life, Buddha enjoys being outdoors with his forever dad. As Brandon beautifully said:
“It’s very interesting seeing the world through a little cat’s eyes. My entire life changed the second I met Buddha! I’m a crazy cat person now and I’m totally OK with it!”
